how can a monster spawner be mined and collected?

I tried using a silk touch diamond pick in survival and it wouldnt drop it got destroyed please help (im talking about a monster spawner)

It can't. You have to build around the spawner where it lies, or break it and move on.

The only way to place spawners is on the PC version, you can edit them in with MC edit, you cannot do anything similar on the Xbox version as of yet, but who knows what the future holds
