Im new to xbox edition but i have had pocket edition for 1 1/2 years and i know pocket edition updates every like 4 months and i was wondering how often the xbox version updates?
The second Tuesday of every week. LOL. There are no set times but between 1 and 3 months? Ussually an update that gives us more neat stuff then a bug fix several weeks later. We will probably see another update in 2 to 4 weeks (That is just a guess. I have no information about that.)
Technically what IamBaldur888 said so there is no time set for Xbox 360 version it just comes randomly or when it comes it comes you know. But IamBaldur888 I don't think TU12 will be out in 2-4 weeks... Maybe because 4J Studios tweeted still a lot of work for TU12 and Microsoft has to go through Cert-testing. So maybe 4 weeks might work but I dunno.

The update rate on this game is a joke compared to PC.
Oh really now?
PC 1.4.2 (Pretty Scary Update) - October 25, 2012
PC 1.4.6 - December 20, 2012
PC 1.5 - March 13, 2013
PC 1.6 - July 1, 2013
X360 TU7 - December 19, 2012
X360 TU8 - January 28, 2013
X360 TU9 - March 23, 2013
X360 TU10 - April 9, 2013
X360 TU11 - May 7, 2013
I believe the wait for TU12 has been the longest wait we've had for an update on the Xbox 360 Edition. The PC version has waited just as long as we have for some of their updates. Comparing times above, it looks like they're close to even when it come to updates. The only difference is that with the PC version, Mojang allows people to play the broken, buggy version of updates long before they're fixed or out. Creating the illusion that the game updates faster.
Pc get snapshots that why it seems like their games update quickly plus they have a ton of mods and other stuff they can do while they wait.We Xbox 360 users just have to go find something else to do while we wait for our updates.
I don't consider the bug fix updates as updates even though they're updates...The bug fix updates are basically 4J mopping up the mess they made in a previous update...
However, it you look closely at what MG posted, the time between TU7 and TU9 (which WERE both NOT bug fixes) is roughly the same (i.e. December to March) as PC 1.46 to PC 1.5 (also December to March). If you further consider that PC 1.4.2 was the initial release of the new features and that PC 1.4.4, PC 1.4.5 and PC 1.4.6 were bug fixes (Mojang mopping up the mess they made in a previous update), then the time of comparison between initial TU releases is actually October to March on the PC vs. December to March on the Xbox.
However, perhaps what we should be looking at is the time period between release of what happened to be the "bug fixed" versions at each level... which would be PC 1.4.6 (March) and PC. 1.5.2 (May) (with PC 1.5.1 as a first bug fix) vs. XBox TU8 (January) and TU11 (May), with TU10 as the first bug fix of TU9. Yeah, this one fell about 2 months behind; but that was probably more to do with having to eat up the certification slot for the planned complete bug fix by sliding in an emergency one to correct a couple of serious issues.
As a further comparison, PC 1.6.1 was just officially released on July 1st and we're still waiting for TU12, but if it's released in July, it could be said that they've pretty much caught up with Mojang's pace again and maybe improved on it depending on how many features are pulled forward from PC versions newer than 1.2.4.
* They just released 1.6 (horse update) for the PC. Go look at the Home page- there's tons of bugs to fix, some of them pretty serious. (Or, as they said: "1.6 brought with it some unfortunate bugs, ...the bug-fix list is almost too huge to put in one place.") Not impressed.
* A 'snapshot' is not an update- it's an Alpha version of a proposed update that you get to do their job and find the bugs in. Not impressed.
To answer the OP's question, the updates come out for the 360 when 4J has them ready. Some take a while, some don't.
Don't make the mistake of trying to compare versions- it's a total waste of time. As is wondering when the "next" update is coming out… you'll be wondering forever.
Hey, I like surprises! Don't you?

Why live wallowing in your own disappointment? All you have to do is buy it on your PC then.
