If you first created the world within the last couple of updates, the nether will be the same since the terrain generation associated with your seed hasn't changed. The only time a nether reset will generate a different looking nether will be if an update occurs that changes nether terrain generation (like when fortresses were added to the game).
If it is a TU11 seed, I can virtually guarantee that your nether has a fortress. Some of them, however, do generate such that they are completely encased in netherrack and you have to do some digging (maybe even quite a bit of digging) to find it.
1-you could post the seed so others could look
2-you could place multiple nether portals at different parts of the map; one is likely to be close to the fortress they are pretty big
3-create the seed in creative and fly around to find the fortress; then place a nether portal in the fortress and enter to see where it is in the overworld, then go back to your original seed and put a portal in the same location
I also reset my Nether because all there was was neather rack! I dug my way out and found the impossible to get too fortress. I made another portal far away from that one and my portal was right in the fortress! I could not believe my luck! So my tip to you is to build a portal far away from the other. Hope I helped!;)
i have reset the nether multiple times, nearly every time i rest it, it was the same but on rare occasions my nether did completely change but if reset again it goes back to the same old one but reset ofcouse
