I don't really think that they should have put Minecraft on the Xbox. You need 1600 Microsoft points to get it. I went down to Target the other day and found a Microsoft points gift card and it gave you 1600 points and guess what? It was like $30.00!
I don't think they should have put Minecraft on the Xbox because it's more expensive and the controls are confusing for some people( like me ). I also heard that the Xbox One is made for Online play only and they're putting Minecraft on that too! Its also a little more expensive then the PC version
I've been reading over the posts and now i think that maybe putting Minecraft on the Xbox 360 isn't such a bad idea. Like many people said i'm adapted to the PC and some people are adapted to the Xbox. So lets just say that this topic never really popped up in the first place(i putting this here because i used all my 10 posts already :(). BTW i didn't really buy the Xbox edition because i thought why would i need it for the Xbox if I already spent like $27.00 to get the PC version. BTW Janx if you are reading this i kindly ask you to choose a better term than "horse puckey" to describe my opinion and yes when i said the controls are easier it was a total opinion
Minecraft is $26.95 on the PC, so it's really not that much more expensive on the Xbox. While I don't personally play on the Xbox, I can understand why Mojang would expand to it. It is a means of letting more people play the game, thus more money in their pockets.
i just think its better on the PC because the controls are easier
Eh, it's just the matter of adaptation. I've been a PC gamer my whole life, and I can barely play with a controller. Some console gamers have hard times playing with a keyboard and mouse too, like a friend of mines. PC Minecraft is better because of mods and an unlimited array of skins.
Actually, MCX360 is $20.00, it costs less than the PC version. I think that Minecraft was released on the Xbox so a wider range of audience could play the game. Personally I have all Minecraft versions (except Raspberry Pi) and I think all are unique in a good way. MCX360 is the top selling arcade game for the Xbox right now, and I'm happy about that. I think MCX360 is a good iteration of Minecraft, it's fun to lay on a couch and play Minecraft instead of sitting on a chair in front of the PC. I think PC is the best version of Minecraft, buuuut, MCX360 is a very close second.
Since when did a 1600 point card cost $30... They have a gift card that is that amount that gives 3 800 point cards for that price, but I've only seen the 1600 one for $20. so confusing...O_o

Yeah, when I bought Minecraft for the 360, I only spent about $20. So I can't relate to the 'more expensive' part.
And just because the pc may have more to it and people prefer it more, I can't play on the pc because my computer doesn't work well with it and I lag too much. Buying a new computer JUST because Minecraft lags on it is kind of out of the question, but it's perfectly fine on the 360 so that's why I'm happy they have it in here as well.
Remind me never to put you in charge of a corporation until you learn to do some business math. Over 6 million copies sold so far X $20 per copy = $120,000,000 in gross revenue. That's a lot of coin for a business to pass up just because you don't like Xbox. Putting it on the Xbox hasn't hurt the sales on PC. In fact, it has probably contributed to some sales on the PC as console gamers, after having been exposed to the Xbox version, have gone on to buy the PC version for the additional "stuff" available in the more recent releases. Having it on the Xbox is also unlikely to hurt the sales of the game if it eventually does get released on other consoles... So, it seems like a winning business decision to me.
The price of Microsoft Points varies depending on where you get them and how many you purchase at one time. So, some people will pay more and some will pay less; but the average seems to be in that $20-$25 range for 1600 points.

And that's probably one of the main reasons why. I think I even heard they hit 10 million sales, and also 10 million on PC. XBOX will probably pass PC sales pretty soon.

I bought the PC version and played it about an hour. Siting in front of a laptop feels like work not like a game. I play xbox exclusively and have no intention of playing PC anymore even though it is on the computer I'm typing on right now.

good to know... never knew different places had different costs, beyond the obvious outside US. I've only ever seen them for the lower amount in all stores I go to. Target, wall mart, & game stop...I know there are other places, but those are the ones I have gotten one from them. must be where I live that makes it the lower cost. I don't know, but the range does make sense...hmm...will have to keep that in mind when I do see one at the higher prices..

In my area, 1600 MP cost $20. $20, strangely, is less than $26.95. I spent seven dollars less for a control scheme that I personally believe is far easier, albeit slower.
You should also take into account that not everyone has a computer that can run Minecraft at a decent pace, and so the xbox captured a market the pc never could.
i just think its better on the PC because the controls are easier
That is definitely an opinion. I tried the MC-PC demo. It was much harder to use the mouse for crafting, and I absolutely hate doing FPS movement with a mouse. You are simply used to your interface, as I am used to a controller. From a human interfaces standpoint, a pair of thumbsticks for movement and looking is more intuitive than using some keys and skooching the mouce to turn around. The Mouse/Keyboard myth of superiority has more to do with player mastery and being unrealistically unrestricted in turning speed on a mouse, versus turning speed implemented on a controller.
You are also wrong on pricing. 1600 points is EXACTLY $20 because 80 points EQUALS one US dollar. I don't know what you paid at Target, but if the line item entry cost more than $20, you got screwed. Also be aware that you may be subjected to sales tax (I was when I renewed my Gold just a few days online).
You are wrong on the Xbox One being for Online play. Yes, MS is unwisely requiring the Xbone to contact MS once every 24 hours, but that has nothing to do with how whether you actually are playing online. The box being connected to the internet and you playing "online" are not really the same thing though the latter is inherently dependent on the former.
I've been happily playing Minecraft on the Xbox since June of last year with more time on it than ANY other game I've played EVER. I had no interest in the PC version. So frankly, your opinion on the matter is horse puckey. So even though the PC version is better, I and many like me are VERY happy it came out on the Xbox 360.
Mojang probably put Minecraft on the XBOX to dominate the console market. It has a huge fan base for PC, so one for console and then one for smartphone would be huge for Mojang. I'm not saying they just want the money, but that's really what every booming company needs, isn't it?

My house is made of steel, with paper for doors.
He is not working on Minecraft anymore.
I know, but he still is the head of Mojang. I also know that Mojang isn't working on Minecraft XBL, 4J Studios is.

Like... 6 million extra sales

Mute point.
Notch certainly the founder of Mojang, but Carl Manneh is the boss. I think Notch is just "Game Developer" now.
