Maybe try out some tutorials here:
A very simple trapped door:
and
A place where someone can die. Make the obsidian 6 blocks down from the hole from the door.
Suicide booth from futurama. Different buttons could pour lava on you, drown you, shoot you with fire charges/arrows, spawn monsters, or pistons drop you into a pit of lava.
I don't want a tutorial I am good with redstone I want to make a minigame now.
For mini games your going to want to be using piston memory tapes with glass and solid blocks to alternate current in a programmed pattern. CNB minecraft's videos on youtube helped me out a bunch - particularly his videos on building a 10 digit, seven segment, digital countdown clock - the piston memory tape in this video is pretty flawless.
make a mini game that's a room with mobs in it, on the floor where the Mobs are pistons and on the outside on the user panel there is a bunch of buttons above would be lava, each button would control certain pistons and the goal would be to kill the mobs by pushing them up into the lava... IDK maybe you could do this at the collection area for a mobs farm

Battle ship, connect 4, tic tac toe, rock paper scissors, a sports game, pvp game, etc.

So, if you want a real challenge, start out with the CNB videos, and build something like that.
With some pre set songs to make it interesting.
Such as Fur Elsie, or The Song Of Storms.
