It is implied farther down in the article since he goes on to say that downloaded games cannot be shared or resold; but you're correct, there could still be some sort of exception/arrangement made re family accounts (i.e. a return of the Family Pack in some form). It just might cost a little more than an individual gold membership again.
oops, I had read the information from another site, and they failed to mention that part lol
That's good and all but us console gamers didn't want that. We want to be able to sell/trade games to whomever will buy from or trade with us, to buy used games and trade/lend games to whomever we want. That's console. That's ALWAYS been console since as far back as I can remember on the NES. Remember Funcoland? I do. Funcoland was a place of wonder and awe and they had like every console hooked up to a TV where you could try games out, unlike GameStop. I love console gaming. Anyone can go on and on and on about how PC gaming is better and I don't care, I'm console. Like yeah, I agree with you that Steam is cool and all but Steam is for PC and perhaps the Steambox if it isn't dead and will actually be released.
There are consoles and there are computers. They should remain different, separate, like church and state. Consoles are supposed to be for gaming, while a computer is whatever you want it to be/do, whether purely for internet, for video making/editing, composing music like with Fruity Loops or something, gaming, developing various different kinds of software, or all of them combined.
I'm a console gamer and would have loved how the Xbox One was originally going to work.
Before it was changed today, you could buy, sell, and play used games. However, you could also choose 10 people to be in your "family" and you could share games with them. Say I bought Dead Rising 3 but my friend didn't have it. All I'd have to do is invite him to be 1 of the 10 people in my family and boom, he has access to my copy of Dead Rising 3 from his Xbox One.
That is no longer going to happen because of the new changes to used games on the Xbox One.
noticed a few people confused here and elsewhere. the thing that is gone is the family sharing of games which you have a group of 10 people who can share peoples games digitally. This no longer exists.
Xbox Live Gold Family is still being replaced by the ability to link some number of accounts ( I keep seeing 5 but cant confirm) to a single xbox accounts gold subscription (this supposedly doesnt cost any more, leaving a family able to connect for less than they can currently)
They never really explained how that "share with ten family members" thing was going to work. It doesn't really make much sense. "Lend the game to someone, but only once ever," what?
Those are two completely different things.
Sharing games with "family members" would have allowed 10 people of your choosing to have access to any games you have on your Xbox One. Meaning they could play it on their Xbox One but while they did, you couldn't be playing.
The whole lending a game thing was for used games. You could give someone the disc for a game and they could play it as much as they wanted. However, if they give it back, they can't borrow it again. Really not that confusing as it has been explained before.
Indeed they were seperate things, the family share was nice because it meant i could also share games with people I wasnt going to be able to get the disk to properly such as those on a different continent.

Thanks for explaining it. Yeah, I was confusing the two a bit.
And that there's no plans by MS to drop kinect. http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/microsoft-reaffirms-kinectless-xbox-one-isnt-coming-24337
And they shouldn't.
Kinect is an integral part of the One. I ain't dancing to MC either, but the facial recognition, voice commands.... we've only seen the tip of the iceberg of what game designers can come up with. Remember that MS is in this for the long haul. We might be amazed at what's happening to games 2-3 of years from now.
I have trouble understanding why anyone would even want to import their 360 worlds to the One. It's not like they're gonna turn into One worlds- they'll still be 360ish worlds. It's also not like their xbox 360 suddenly quits and they can't play on their 360 world anymore. The only reason I can see that people would want to import world to the new console is so they don't lose their massive builds (but they won't, really). Other than that, it will be much better to start a newer, bigger, better, faster One world. (You probably will anyway).

That the reason why. I don't want to start over so I hope they can make a converter that can move the 360 worlds over to the new console.
But that' just it- why move it? We won't know for sure that you'll gain anything until the One version comes out. I'm thinking you won't gain a thing- world size won't increase, etc. You won't lose anything (your 360 won't quit working, will it?), but you won't gain anything either.

I disagree, I think that it would be programatically more challenging to build the core code to run 2 different console type games on the same console just for importing purposes on the XB1 than it would be to do a one time import conversion to change the file to a XB1 file...even if it does do some damage to builds around the borders of the 360 map when imported and converted.
I expect that there wouldn't even have to be much change made to the XB360 world except to expand the borders on all sides and allow the players to explore a little further in each direction than they were able to in the past, while their old XB360 map and their converted XB1 map would share the same central 864x864 blocks to the overworld map, and push back the bedrock walls in the Nether.
And that is 'IF' 4J can come up with a decent file transfer algorithm that they will be happy with producing and publishing, and MS approves for use.
I've already got the XBone. Since MC for XBone will have bigger worlds and bigger multiplayer, I even heard there might be Servers, it's almost a no brainer. No offense if anyone chooses 360. :c
On one hand, I think 360 worlds will remain 360ish worlds, especially when it comes to size, when transferred to the One.
On the other, some of you hope that 360 worlds will expand to One size when transferred.
I hope I'm wrong, and I'll gladly admit it if I am.
But that's gonna be a huge task for 4J- and I hope some of you aren't disappointed.
We'll find out one way or the other shortly.

Just heard that XBox One is coming down in price to £399 bundled with Titan Fall. Not a huge drop but getting better
