When someone buys a game on the Xbox One game, it becomes linked to that persons profile/gamertag. When they sell that game Microsoft will wipe it from their console and when someone else buys it, it will become tied to their profile. So on and so forth. No extra fee, no code, no nothing. It is all handled in the Cloud.
From what Microsoft said, that's fine. When you get back on, it will perform the check and you'll be able to play your games.
There is a fee for buying used games and playing them on your console. There's also a fee if your friend brings over a game and you want to play more than an hour. They have not addressed the fee amount yet.
(There is though statements saying it wouldn't be like this anymore maybe. There's no official statement I have found saying it was not true.)
Edit:(I found a few official statements by Microsoft employees , none really confirm or deny it at this point in time.)

Please stop spreading false information people. Jesus. There is no fee to play the used games. There is no fee to let your friend borrow a game.
Used games will work as follows: when you buy a new game for the Xbox One, that game will be tied to your Gamertag/Account. when you sell that game to one of the participating retailers, it is checked against the Cloud and shows that you sold the game. Microsoft will wipe the game install from your console. Then, someone just has to walk into Gamestop, take the game off the shelf, buy it, and play it. No difference from how it is done now when it comes to used games. The only difference is that the PUBLISHER can charge the RETAILER a fee to sell that game used. Meaning that if say EA wanted to, they could charge Gamestop $15 to sell one of their games like Madden, used. Nowhere in the equation are you charge a fee. This is the reason for the once every 24 hour online check that the Xbox One requires.
Same goes for friends borrowing your games. There is NO fee. There are only restrictions. you can only let a friend borrow your game if they've been on your Xbox Live friends list for at least 30 days and they can only borrow the game once. After that, they can't borrow it again. Again, no Fee. This has been confimered by Microsoft more than once. through numerous gaming news outlets, their own press conference at E3, and their reveal a month ago.
If you have "sources" that say otherwise and it isn't just hear say that someone might have heard from someone else, post it. Don't just say "you've heard about it".
Soooo many people slagging the xbox one down, yet they don't know in detail what the PS4 does yet. LOL
You think Microsoft . . . one of the worlds biggest companies . . . would shoot themselves in the foot? LOL
As for the things we 'might' know:
Connecting once every 24 hours> So what. I've been connected to the internet for the past 3 years in this house. (What % of gamers don't have internet?)
Can't borrow games> So What. The last game I lent out I didn't get back. Not doing that again.
Sony is shooting themselves in the foot with the publishers (who is actually driving all this change).
Sony fans are beside themselves because they assume they'll get to continue their outright piracy just as they always have (or as they sweet-talk it: "sharing", "lending", or "borrowing"). Heck, it's my "consumer right" to share my game with all my friends (and they with their friends), right?
Ahhh, it's not your game. Read the TOS. It's the publishers/developers game and you're only buying the right for you to play it. You don't own it.
The publishers are sick and tired of all this 'sharing' and 'lending'.
Sony fans can "LOL" all they want. But there's more changes coming- and it won't be pretty.
I have a feeling that the xbox people will have the last laugh.
What's funny is the publishers are keeping their heads down and letting MS take all the flack.
It's not MS behind this. They aren't making a dime off of this- the publishers are.
You think the publishers are gonna let Sony slide on the 'restrictions' they've placed on MS?
Think again.
I'm not a fanboy of either one- I own both.
But what game time I do have I usually spend it playing Total Miner on the xbox the most.
Now I'll be honest, the developer of TM has been thinking of putting the game out on one or the other. I'm torn. It's a long way till Christmas!
Well, now we know these details about PS4. Enjoy : no restrictions for selling games, no restrictions about internet connection, no restrictions for borrow games, free zone (as a europe resident it's sooo great). And 100$ cheaper... Clearly, Sony is the winner here.
Except Sony slyly worded nearly half their press conference to avoid talking about certain things. Like how they didn't outright mention that multiplayer on the PS4 will require a Playstation Plus Membership, like Xbox Live Gold. They didn't mention that in a straight address, they slyly tried to bury it.
They also didn't really say anything regarding the fact that they, like Microsoft, will allow Devs and Publishers to take advantage of Cloud Computing for their games like on the Xbox One. Know what that means? Any game that utilizes the Cloud will be REQUIRED to be connected to the internet in order for it to be played.
I give Microsoft the credit they deserve for having the balls to take the brunt of this situtaion and being straight forward with everyone about everything. Sony on the other hand tried to bury it behind shiny trailers and taking advantage of the hate towrds Microsoft.
More examples of people being SHEEP. You take what you see for granted and don't question it. My advice is to stop jumping to conclusions and actually sit down, think about it, and do some research. Don't just jump on things the second they;re said because in the world of big business, it is never what it seems.
Already have $100 down on a Day One Edition of the Xbox One. According to my Gamestop they only took 5 pre-orders, we were #5 on the list. Either way, I look forward to Minecraft and Dead Rising 3. Sony's press conference showed nothing interesting in terms of games at all.

Dead Rising 3 looked amazing. Not to mention that it is going to be co-op. Co-op... Zombies... Giant open world... Explosions.... Cars... Crafting weapons... Take my money!
I'd reserve an Xbox One but I don't know if I'll have the money for it when it comes out.
Oh my god, online games will have to be played online. How did we not see this coming.
I think the point Sony made was that you won't have to do Microsoft's stupid 24-hour You-Are-A-Thief Curfew.
I do very little else but sit and research this. Your post is daft. Microsoft were evasive, not Sony, about the onerous nonsense they have shackled their consumers with. All Sony did was sit back and let everyone assume they would introduce a similar system, then knocked it out of the park by revealing that games on PS4 will work exaclty the same as PS3.
Ah but you forget one crucial thing. Sony is allow the publishers to do whatever they want.
"If a third-party publisher wants to do something server-side with their own content, there's not much we can do about that," Sony's Jim Ryan told Eurogamer.
Sony just forgot to mention that they're doing exactly what Microsoft is doing. They were just smart and swept it under the rug until after the press conferences on Monday. Microsoft on the other hand has come right out and said that the Xbox One will require a once ever 24 hour connection. Nothing hidden there. They also come out and said we're restricting the lending of games to friends. Nothing hidden there. They came out and said hey, were going to let our publishers dictate any fees for used games to the retailer and whether or not they'll allow the used game at all.
Oops. I guess Sony just "forgot" to say they're doing the same thing.
What is your argument about them charging for multiplayer on PS4? Like Microsoft have for ten years? Are you being serious?
My only arguement against that is again, Sony didn't say it. They tried to hide it under clever wording.
And I quote, "For less than $5 a month, players will get discounted games, cloud saves, automatic game updates, early access to Beta programs, an instant game collection, as well as the ability to fully immerse themselves in online multiplayer.PS4 gamers that aren't Playstation Plus members will be able to enjoy singleplayer games for free..." Jack Tretton
That's just a little evasive don't you think? So many people didn't know that they would have to pay for multiplayer on the PS4 after Sony's press conference. Places like IGN, GameInformer, and numerous other news sites had to post articles telling people. Why not just say in plain words that multiplayer requires you to pay on the PS4?
Microsoft made it well known that they were backing the publishers wants of controlling used games. Sony completely avoided the subject and danced around it by showing everyone shiny trailers and taking jabs at Microsoft for the EXACT same thing they're also doing.
"We create the platform. Weāve certainly stated with our first party games, weāre not going to be doing that. But we welcome publishers and their business models to our platforms. Thereās going to be free-to-play; thereās going to be every potential business model on there and again thatās up to their relationship with the consumer and what they think is going to put them in the best stead. So weāre not going to dictate that. Weāre going to give them a platform to publish on." - Jack Tretton
Basically saying that all 3rd party published used games could be restricted on the PS4 at the sole discretion of those publishers. So any publisher that isn't a part of Sony, could lock used games from the PS4.
If i can get a job this summer, count me in with xboxone. If not, i will wait, and I have patience. As for my friends, I hope they also get xboxone. The only thing i'm not looking forward to in the xboxone is the whole media-based 'windows 8' theme (its god awful)
They'll be a fee? Give me a link to a publisher that's said they will charge the fee and how much it is.
If you want the game, why shouldn't you pay full price for a 'used' game, if that's what it takes? It 'degraded' some how? It's not the same as it was when it was new? I'm not saying I would either, but if I wanted the game bad enough, I would.
Look, I understand that that everyone wants the new console's policies to work like the 'old' way. But things are changing, like it or not. Both consoles will have their own new 'restrictions', and gaming won't be the cheap, free-for-all like it was anymore. These new beautiful, millions-to-make games that we all want will come at a priceā¦. and that investment protected.
Maybe we should just forget the hassle and confusion with consoles and go with a PC.
Yay, finally something that makes me want to buy a Xbox One. Xbox One Edition news is awesome imho! Just hope we can import our save games from the cloud.
Apparently 4J are talking to Microsoft to see if they can swing something like that.
24 hour check in doesn't bother me when it comes to having internet access for the Xbox one. I can't remember the last time my cable was out for more then 24 hours. The power goes out on rare occasions due to snow but I've never not had access to the internet when power was on. I think far too many people complain about this and it will probably never effect them. People who don't have internet access should be the ones to complain. I have a feeling this will change given some time. Microsoft will want to sell more consoles.
I usually buy games new and trade them in. Which I can still do. If I read things correctly a game can be sold/used once. So if you buy a used game you can't sell that back. I could be wrong in this and if its true its the one thing I hope changes.
I will never understand why people care if they can't play old games on a new system.
1. Just use your Xbox 360 to play those old out of date games. Most HD TV's have multiple HDMI inputs. Enough to keep both consoles working. The game isn't going to play any different or look any different then it does now. Since if you don't buy one you will be doing this anyway why does it matter?
2. Most people who buy the Xbox One are wanting to play the newest and greatest games. Its the biggest reason to buy a next gen console. I think a lot of people plan on playing their older games but once they have a few new ones on the new system the old systems quickly becomes obsolete collecting dust.
I plan on getting an Xbox one eventually. I have a host of games on my 360 that I'm playing now. I will probably play those until I'm done with them. Then when this happens I will buy a new Xbox one and purchase Minecraft. This could be in the fall, winter or next spring. I'm hoping by the time I'm ready to buy I will be able to get some sort of deal on the system or a deal on accessories when I buy the system etc.

Yes, they said on Twitter that they will continue to update MCXBLA.

My laptop is trash , maybe I can fix that someday .
Oh just saw that, I'm on an iPad and they do the auto correct thing, I guess that's what it came up with.
