Hey guys a not so quick video on the topic of finding diamonds.
I'll show you the principles of branch mining and a couple other hints to maximize your payout... hope you new peeps find it helpful. Peace

Yep. Trenching every 3rd row shows you every single block in the mined space. It's as good as strip mining, with only 1/3rd the digging.

So let me verify.....when you say you mine lvl 4,5,6....the map would show Y=5(head level)....lvl 7 becomes the floor of lvls 8-9-10(y=9 on map)....correct??
I actually did this a little today in my underground lair. Found 4 diamond blocks with 8 diamonds total with Fortune III pick. I'm digging lvls 11-12-13 though...I may go down and dig around more. Nice vid.

on the map y would show as 4 so you would mine 5,6 & 7. Glad you found it useful!
