Hey, I'm new to posting on the forums here (so apologies in advanced if this is the wrong place to post) but I know the worlds on the Xbox pretty much can not be enlarged or expanded (at least not enough for it to be worth anything) but I was just curious as to why this isn't possible for the Xbox 360 to handle.
The Xbox 360 does not have enough RAM and the game is already pushing the limits of the consoles processors and RAM. So it's a lack of memory. To get any sort of larger worlds horizontally, we would have to sacrifice a lot of features and other things in the game.
The next Title Update will be doubling the current build height from 128 to 256. So you'll be able to build much higher into the air at least. The reason they can add vertical area to the world is because it will only be adding air, which takes nearly nothing to add.
Ah, well, it makes sense considering how old this console is and how very out of date its hardware is at this point in technology, it just kinda sucks that we couldnt at least double the world size. Personally when I make MC worlds I like to stick with it and just explore the vastness of the world, but, obviously, we are extremely limited in that sense.
I suppose my best bet is to just eventually get a good enough PC to effectivley and enjoyably play in the way that I so wish. (gotta love having a POS 200$ laptop that cant run MC on even tiny render distance.)

I agree... please do get a good enough PC and play on that and don't waste your breath trolling the forums for an opportunity to slam the Xbox. These sorts of posts have been going on for over a year now...
I"m quite willing to forfeit playing on large public servers and walking about on world's that are too vast to appreciate for the ability to play in an intimate little world in the comfort of my livingroom with my friends on the sofa right next me. I like to be able to just glance over at the other half of the TV to see what my friend is up to. I can start an infinite number of worlds (or at least as many as my hard drive, USBs and Cloud storage will hold) and play them with an infinite number of different objectives not hampered by builds already in existence in those worlds... etc. Isn't in great that we both have an option?

Retired StaffUnless 4J can optimize code enough, we are restricted with our current world size due to the comparatively small amounts of RAM on the Xbox 360.
