hey i am wondering what floor levels diamonds can be found at ?

1-16. But i like mining at level 12 becuz you are just above the lava pits and i find the most diamonds at that level but it could be different for different people. but the levels are 1-16

Anything 16 and below. Personally, I find digging with your feet at 10, then a couple blocks above my head is best.

THE_ZIPPER has it! Dig your mineshaft down until your map shows that you are Y= 16 or lower and start searching. Beyond looking from Y= 1-16 there's no wrong way to mine diamonds. You'll find they're still rare and you most likely will encounter enough lava to make you hate life. If you have the materials to enchant your tools I would suggest that you start your mine and locate the diamonds but do not mine them until you can enchant a pick axe with the Fortune enchantment. This will give you a chance of receiving more than 1 diamond per diamond ore block mined depending on the level of enchantment. One more tip that is even more important than the previous, is to either save often, or keep a safe room (creeper and lava proof) nearby and unload your diamonds and ore regularly. Lava will kill you specially if you have a stack of freshly mined diamonds. Murphy's Law demands it.

10-16, 12 works best for me. Just try some different levels see what works best for you.

You can sometimes find a few diamonds in blacksmith village chest on the surface or some other mob chest above level 17.

Mining at level 10 works the best! I found loads of diamonds there.

I run into him all the time - he's green, short legs, no arms and hisses a lot.

I actually had significant success with a certain technique on a map I recently started. It took the longest to find diamonds on that map than any before it.

However, I dug a staircase down to level 12. Then dug straight out several blocks a tunnel that was 3 across and 2 high. And every two blocks down this tunnel, I dug out another 1x1 tunnel. It took time but nowhere near as long as what I had been doing.

About the fourth or fifth 1x1 tunnel in, I found a diamond ore vein with six diamond blocks to mine. Was so awesome.

Basically near the bedrock, which is 1-16 levels above it to be exactly exact that I'm exact.
