Okay so you made the money, you built the game now give us some offical minecraft public servers,
you know those ones with 1000+ player limits, and are on 24/7 servers
I can join into that are completely open world open pvp, open construction 1000s of players building, mining, crafting, all at once all in a public server, castles being built and destroyed, tunnels being carved, and teams being formed, I can't stop dreaming about this version of minecraft,
its great to build with your friends, but I wanted to have a little pvp, now that i've built my great castle, and im stting at the top of a giant tower wondering, now what....
Imagine: team based games where a say a 400 player server was divided into 4 teams of 100 players, fighting over territory and resources, building together, and destroying together
when minecraft came to consoles I had heard about it, and heard it had multiplayer but when i played i was like okay this is cool but something is missing, public servers... like even 64 players would be decent, but Im like why not more, why not give us as much as we can take. fill up the brim.. I want to see an open world minecraft public server with like 100s of players all in one world. GIVE IT TO ME NOW!Petition for minecraft offical public servers on xbox 360, with 60+ player lmits

I really don't think an xbox 360 could handle 1000 players in a server. That's a lot of behind the scenes work for every xbox to be doing . Have you ever played a game where there was 1000 + people on xbox? I have it was phantasy star universe . Most of the time you could not even see everyone they were stuck in a almost preloaded phase and there characters were grey etc . Everything was laggy and it just wasn't great all around . The actual in game only allowed 6 players while doing a mission , so I guess be glad we have 8 lol.
I would think a max of 16 players would be more likely but at this point I really don't see the player cap going higher.
If you want to play with that many people, play on the PC. You are also not the first person asking for this. There have been dozens upon dozens of thread created about this topic.
I for one would not join the server even if it did exist.
The last thing I want is a bunch of children yelling at me, killing me, and destroying everything I have.

This would be the main problem. If you play GTA you expect to be hassled. Too many ways to enjoy minecraft. They'd need a server for every play style.
I like the idea of servers. Like said above by phoenix, I think if they do *make* servers that are rentable, that they should increase player limit to 16.
Oh the box can take it. I play games with 24 players regularly.
Those games also don't have hundreds of thousands of interchangeable blocks though. So there's much much more strain on the hardware,
In a regular game the xbox needs to load the map and keep track of the players. The map will always be the same give or take if there's a few environmental things that can happen with explosions etc its still not much.
Now look at minecraft , it has to load a map which is usually always different , it has to account for player activity and update your console constantly with what those players are doing . It also has to account for everything block they remove or place etc , not to mention mob spawning .
Everytime I play minecraft I think of one thing,
"Where are all the people!"

You wouldn't manage it. It would be like Just Cause2 multiplayer on PC. Or free roam in GTA IV.
I would think a max of 16 players would be more likely but at this point I really don't see the player cap going higher.

Stay fluffy~
That would be a managable number.
This^^^ Emphatically!
Each person would get 4 chunks of their own if the world was split evenly
This would be the main problem. If you play GTA you expect to be hassled. Too many ways to enjoy minecraft. They'd need a server for every play style.
Which would be torn down by 18 children five minutes after you go offline.

Yep. I could take care of them, but I wouldn't be able to build much between defending myself.
