Hi, recently I have been experiencing a glitch with the ghast when shooting at them. I hit them directly and sometimes the arrow bounces right off. Other times the ghast just turns red and takes no damage. Has anybody else seen this Glitch?
The amount of damage a mob will take from a bow varies from next to nothing to more depending on how hard you draw the bow. Also, it can be somewhat difficult to judge the distance to ghasts accurately; that is, sometimes the ghast is farther away from you than you think it is. Also, sometimes the arrows will nick the blocks you may be using as cover, which changes the arrow's trajectory.
It May Be A Problem With The Collission Box? I Dont Know Im No Expert But Iv Experienced It Woth Other Mobs And People, I Like How Many Ghasts Spawn Makes THings interesting
The bugs mentioned I've seen, not just with ghasts, but most everything. In my music disc farm, I'll stand behind the creeper so the skeleton will shoot it, and there's at least 3 arrows each time I attempt it that "hit" the creeper, and it flashes red, but it bounces off and the creeper doesn't take any damage. In addition, I've been shot by skeletons and not been damaged (as in it hits me, bounces off, and I don't even sound like I got hit)
I have trouble with a lot of moving targets. Arrows tend to also bounce off of mobs that are hopping around a lot.
But taking a closer look at some of the seemingly dud arrows, I notice that the appearance of them bouncing off a mob is also an illusion; the arrow will then warp to a new location in the ground somewhere behind where the mob was when you shot at it.
My theory is that there's a bit of lag between the game calculating the position and trajectory of both mobs and arrows, and the animation for them. What looks like an arrow bouncing off of a mob you hit could actually be in most cases that you actually didn't hit the mob at all, and only appeared to due to lag.
I don't have any explanation for your second ghast glitch. Sorry.
