A google search was no help. Apologies if this is old news.
I finally brought my Minecraft XBLA up to date yesterday, after leaving it at 1.7 for so long. Happily, everything in my old world seems to made the transition well. One oddity I just discovered is that the cactus resource blocks in my automated farm will sometimes bounce endlessly in the lava pit I use as disposal. (Since I can't turn the farm off, a switch opens a 1x1x7-deep lava hole for the resources to fall through and get destroyed.) They just sit there bouncing merrily for a long time before finally disappearing. Anyone else notice this? I'm sad to see that the blocks are much smaller too. Now they get trapped in more places along the cactus rows, and don't look so impressive floating down the streams.
I've noticed it a bit, yeah. Sometimes the entities will bounce right back into my inventory when I'm trying to get rid of them...There's really nothing that can be done about it that I know of. I also never noticed the size being smaller, but that could be because I bought the game fairly late in the year.

The good people, they always die. And the bad people do too...But the weaker people, the people like me, WE have inherited the Earth. -Morgan Jones
The extra entity bouncing is something I have noticed, but not the size of them. I have been playing steadily online since release so I think that part may be in your head buddy

Nothing wrong with my head . . . my head . . . my head . . .
Yeah, they definitely shrunk since 1.7. Maybe I'll find some video sometime.
I've always noticed items bouncing off lava... don't look a gift "saved by the bounce" diamond in the mouth, I always say. Throw down a bucket of water and collect that puppy while it's still got life in it and run!
I actually made a post about this a while back.
It seems to be harmless entertainment.
I like to think of the items having a will and refusing to die. ._.
Heheh! Yep, that's it, except that the disposal chute I used is enclosed on all 4 sides, with the front being glass. So I can sit there watching the bouncing block until I get bored. Sometimes there's more than one.
I noticed it initially because I heard a hissing sound that seemed to be stuck in an infinite loop. Fearing a nasty glitch, I dug through the sandstone blocks that seal the stairway down to the disposal chute area, and there was the cactus block doing its fire dance.
This did not happen with Beta 1.7. I watched this chute quite a bit back then, when working on the cactus farm. The resources were always promptly swallowed up. I guess the glitch must have been introduced around the time of your linked post.
