After dieing from zombie pigmen in the nether etc. you want to quickly grab some items to go and get your stuff back. What is the fastest way to do that? My thought is pressure plate at your respawn that pushes a piston breaking a chest with items in it for a recovery operation. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Except that I'm pretty sure pistons won't push a chest and won't break it either. I use a chest all the time as a "stopper" 8 blocks from my cobblestone generator inside my home base. The lever just clicks when when the cobblestone reaches my chest and the generator won't push out any more cobblestone until I mine the line back away from the chest. The chest has never broken from the pressure even if I keep clicking the lever.

So I guess the quickest reload would be a group of dispensors that you run through passing over pressure plates and reload your inventory with emergency items?

Probably. For the few seconds difference, I tend to just keep a chest ready near my bed and "Y" the items directly into my hotbar. I also tend to move my spawn point around to "safe mini-bases" near where I'm going to be working so I don't wind up having to dash across the map too often. In the case of the nether it would be near my portal that is nearest where I'm going to be re-entering the nether. While in the nether, I tend not to stray too far away from my portals. There is really not much reason to do so anymore. Once I find the fortress, I always set up a portal inside it and then at least a safe mini base wherever that portal leads to in the overworld.

I set up a system with 16 dispensers, all aimed at a water conveyer that ends at a collection hole in the wall...Using 2 buttons, where one button sends all 4 pieces of armor and the 4 main tools. Other button sends 32 torches, in case I died in a cave somewhere

That feature has not made it to the Xbox 360 as of yet. Maybe in the future.
That is a neat system.
How long does it take from respawn to reequip?
