I've been building out on a grassy plain biome undercut by a huge ravine system. I always thought that enderman were supposed to spawn frequently in the biome, but I tend to see very few of them (maybe 1 or 2 in 20-30 hours of play).
Wondering if the mob spawn cap could be part of my problem as well. there are lots of small vios where 2-block high mobs can spawn and get trapped underground.
Enderman follow the same rules as other mobs in the overworld, except they don't care how bright it is.The only way to help your enderman spawn rate is to flood the caves around/below you with water. I like to hunt them in a desert biome. They stand out against the sand very well.
