I know many of you do not know who I am but you have seen my videos on youtube. However, I am concerned about something that will effect even Mojang. I am posting a quite serious video that discusses Minecraft on the XBOX systems. I am hoping and praying that Mojang can see this blog and maybe this blog can give a proper Stir with the minecraft community to get XBOX to change its mind.
This is about proprietary Rights. With what XBox announced you can not use rented games anymore on their system and at the same time you will not be able to share your games with friends. I know that they mean well with this but this would effect game developers with Mojang as well.
The one thing that Mojang shares is the right to do videos on youtube. The main problem with this decision is proprietary rights. Mojang has proprietary rights to Minecraft and the way this announcement is going it looks like proprietary rights is out the windows because XBox is stealing the proprietary rights from Notch and Mojang.
I believe that Notch (Mojang) has a right to decide on how their Game is distributed and should never be controlled on how, What and when his game gets distributed. In away, I hope he agrees with me. I understand he has a contract with them but his rights was violated the instant XBOX made this announcement about fees and such.
As a Xbox fan. I am extremely disappointed with XBox (Microsoft) because Game DEvelopers, players and Rental Companies is getting really screwed in the buttocks (Dont know cussing rule on here) with this announcement and I really want to get this blog to take notice. I am posting a video that everyone needs to watch.
I know many of you do not know me but I really need to get Notch attention and ask him to please address this on his Mojang website because this effects all of us in the end. Please understand, Notch. I am not posting this for attention but concerned that Minecraft will get screwed over by this and I am an extremely concerned fan of your products.
Your the only person I know of who can prevent this travesty from happening. The reason is your a game developer and you have the right to your content. If you are unsuccessful on this then I suggest moving your game to playstation 3 and 4 or WIIU and WII because at least their your rights as a game developer is granted.
Incoming video and will be posted shortly. Please help me in getting this blog noticed.
First off let me tell you that you should have put this in the xbox section. But I do like what you are saying and I completely understand it. I am very mad at what the Xbox One has done to gaming and same with the PS4. I don't think that it effects Mojang as much (considering that the game was downloadable and of course you couldn't share it :P).
It doesn't effect Mojang at all because Minecraft doesn't come on a disc except for the the one published by Microsoft for the Xbox360.
The Xbox version of Minecraft is only a licensing deal for Mojang, the game port was developed by 4J Studios and is published by Microsoft under a licensing agreement where Mojang gets a set fee for every copy sold. That disc already belongs to Microsoft to do with as it pleases and if they don't want to let you sell it or rent it then Mojang has no say in the matter.
@ThizBoss It is now available on CD. Goto GameFly and they will send it. Yeah, places like GameFly is getting screwed by this announcement. Also, This company will be affected, I thought it was ok because it says Game Developers can be discussed. Mojang is game developer and thought this was proper category,@AUsader Your right and wrong. First of all, it is no longer just downloadable because GameFly is selling the CD. However, if the sell o the product is in question because Mojang will lose money and revenue on the way it is being handled. Companies like GameFly, GameStop, and other places would be a main chunk of their revenue now that it is on CD,
The CD does not belong to Mojang, it belongs to Microsoft, Mojang has nothing to do with it other than getting a set fee for every disc that Microsoft sells.
Mojang has no power over Microsoft at all in this, the licensing agreement is done and has been for well over a year now, Microsoft bought the rights to publish their version of the game for the Xbox. That contract probably has a term of at least five years and possibly longer before Mojang would be able to renegotiate the terms for extending it.
This has nothing to do with the exclusivity agreement that Mojang signed with Microsoft (for more money) that most people believe was probably only for one year so that it would expire at the end of this month. That is a completely separate agreement from the licensing deal, sure Mojang will be able to make a port for the PS3/4 now, but it doesn't mean they can break the licensing deal with Microsoft.
Try reading what I wrote next time, I already said the CD for Xbox belonged to Microsoft.
One, Minecraft is for the Xbox360, not the XboxOne, and as far as I've heard, there's been no news of an update/port to the new console (however, the XboxOne will be backwards compatible fully, so it might be able to play Minecraft...but it'd still be treated as and considered an Xbox360 game). As such, anything pertaining to the XboxOne doesn't /really/ pertain to the Minecraft. That'd be like saying the rules for your Gamecube retroactively change the rules for your N64 games...it just doesn't make sense.
Secondly, you mention making videos on youtube as part of all this...that's still going to be up to Mojang. Not Microsoft.
Left a comment on that terrible quality video he finally posted...
You have your in game sound turned up too loud and your mic too low, the sound of breaking blocks covers up what your saying a lot. Too much background noise and comment also, basically I gave up watching about three minutes in.
If your going to make an announcement and try to get people to watch a video on what you think is an important topic then maybe you should have your thoughts prepared and quit rambling.
The video is horrible. You can't hear what you're saying because the kids in the background then your digging dirt and that makes it even worse and it sounds like your talking through a can.

Please do more research before posting something like this. You can play used games on the the Xbox One. If you want your friend to be able to play one of your games at their house, all you need to do is sign into your profile and boom, access to your games. Everything else right now is just a rumor. Microsoft has not confirmed or denied whether or not there is actually a fee to play used games.
I will be getting an Xbox One regardless of what you try to say here. My friends can all afford their own games. I haven't borrowed or let someone borrow a game in years. So this doesn't really affect me much. The Xbox One looks like a beast of a piece of hardware. Especially with it's triple operating systems and instant switching between games, movies, music, TV, and internet.
People are making way too many assumptions and whining about way too many things for a system we know next to nothing about and has only been announced for 3 days.I recommend chilling the heck out and waiting for E3.
Firstly, Minecraft is not on the Xbox One system, so any announcement about what will be regarding the Xbox One system does not affect how Minecraft 360 Edition is distributed. Secondly, without knowing what exactly the contents are of any agreements that already exist between Mojang and Microsoft, you are truly out of line suggesting that either company has breeched those agreements in any way. While I appreciate your concerns, statements accusing Microsoft of stealing proprietary rights are also completely out of line and do not fortify your position. Rather, such wild accusations weakens your arguments.
