I have a main gamer tag that I use with all my friends, but recently made a public minecraft world and posted the server on Minecraft Forums. I have an unused XBox live membership from the family pack and was wondering if I made a new account, could I transfer the current world to that one so I could keep my real friends and Minecraft friends seperate?

There is not current way to transfer your current saves over to another gamertag that does not break the Xbox ToS.
