so. not sure if anyone else has done this. and i haven't seen any posts about it. but if anyone wants a nice wall clock all you have to do is place a clock in an item frame. it still works just like a clock.
Lol, um yeah. I like to use one next to my mob grinder so I can see what time of day it is. They are also nice to have near your mineshafts so you know if there are gonna be a bunch of creepers waiting for you at the top of the ladder.
Well yes that makes sense, you can put ALL items in an item frame. I haven't played minecraft much since the update. if you put a trapdoor in an item frame, then look at the corner and put a torch that looks nice also.
A cool thing you can try is put an item frame, then put a halfslab of the type you like and then put a torch UNDER the block that is ABOVE the item frame and it looks very good, especially with cobblestone or stone halfslab

I'll try that! Did you know if you put a map on the item frame it will show all of the areas you explored?
that i did not know. i assumed it would just look like a peice of paper like in your inventory. clocks will work from your inventory so it was the first thing i tried back when we got item frames. i had just forgotten about it until a few days ago when i put one in my steam punk air ship project. ill be adding a map to that as well now.

yea ive been doing this for a while as well. my castle has lots of them. though ive been careful not to go over the frame/picture limit.. which may or may not include torches. though believe they just increased the maximum
ive also used fence. and a few other things. but yea half slabs look the best. but fences aren't bad

That's an idea I hadn't thought of. Maybe I'll make another clock and put in my skeleton trap base. Seems like a better idea than going out and looking out of the ravine to see if the sun is out or not! Can't sleep there, but at least I'll be able to work till daylight.
