Does anyone have the issue of being in an online game with multiple people then the auto save starts...
mid-way people get booted
then the save "finalizes" it goes back to the game then the XBox Crashes/Locks Up.
It started happening after TU9. Don't know if this part of the Change Log is the reason.
- Improved the loading/saving time.
after TU10 maybe once every couple days...
As of TU11 it happens nightly...
It's not the xbox, back when the Box used to crash it was simply due to me leaving it on for over 24 hrs
at a time... During the day when there is very little activity never crashes. At night when there is
activity it crashes... This is after the nightly "cool down/shut down" time so its not because the
Xbox is stressed. Tried 3 Diff save destination. XBOX Arcade 20GB drive. 2 usb sticks.. one of which
"meets the requirements". I thought it was the 30 min auto save... just too much for the box to handle..
switched it to 15min saves. . still doing it..
I assume the crash is due to people trying to quickly rejoin after being booted.
Worst part is the Save itself isn't retained... I load it and it loads the save before the crash..
Even though it finalized and went back to in-game screen. Still it is not saved.
Any thoughts, suggestions? Similar experiences?

No, but I don't use autosave. Manual saving has been flawless. Maybe set a 30 min timer on your phone and just manual save it until it gets fixed. I know it doesn't help when your afk and everyone else is playing, but you shouldn't lose anymore progress at least.
No problems with the game freezing the xbox on save. Sure, the game freezes up unexpectedly at completely random times, and I have to reset the power, but its never happened while saving or immediately after.

Do you guys have multiple people playing? I run a server so the xbox is on from 1pm to 8pm then from 9pm to noon the next day.. most of the lock ups happen at night when there are multiple people on. I want to try the auto save off , and try manual saving problem would be that if it DOES lock up we could lose a days progress instead of 15-30 mins...
Thanks for the replies gents!
P.S When I played solo about 3 months ago I never had auto save on my single player map. And manual saving was flawless as well... even the servers auto saves were fine up until about 3 weeks. ago.. lock ups were few and far between.

I think your thinking is probably right on track. As you know, I usually play single-player offline and sometimes play multiplayer in splitscreen. I haven't had the game freeze up the Xbox for ages and ages now... even on some days where the Xbox itself winds up running for 8 hours straight (as different people take shifts playing).
I would perhaps try the server for a bit using a new world (i.e. different gamesave); just in case it's a file corruption issue instead.
It's weird. Yeah I might try the diff map thing.. someone is suggesting that it could be the xbox so i'll probably test that first to eliminate that as the main reason. It runs all morning.. Nobody is in the server.. (Up just in case) Never locks up. Multiple saves happen and it's fine.. but here after TU9 when there is activity in the server.. it sometimes. ( now once daily at least) will boot whoever is in mid save and locks up. Grant it.. it doesn't lock up after every auto save... Just one random save.

i had the same problem. it turned out to be an overheating issue. never got the error message about it being a heating issue till it happened in another game.

With mine I don't believe it's an overheating issue. It happened as quickly as an hour and a half after it's cool down period.

I do play multiplayer, usually no more than 5 people in a game though. I like the idea of trying a different box. Even with a cooldown period of an hour, twice a day, it might not like running the other 22 hours. Keep in mind that with the recent updates we have more information for it to process.

Which Is why I switched it to 15 mins.. I figured 30 min saves were too much .. and it just crapped out. But it did it with the 15Min intervals as well..
Yeah Imma try another Box tonight.

I didn't mean the actual save information being greater, I meant the amount of data the xbox has to process while running. I think that may be heating your xbox up more, which can lead to this issue.
Edit: I'd like to add that I came to this conclusion on the assumption that we have many more things running in the background. We all know we didn't get 30mb worth of content with TU11, but I'm betting they laid the groundwork for jungles and such and more importantly, the anvil world generation. All of which, even if not playable, could increase the processing strain on your xbox, thus increasing heat generation. I fear you will have to shorten the playable time of your server.
Well so far... I tried an Alternate Xbox. No crashes last night.
We will see if this holds over the next couple of days.. People claimed that lag was reduced and game seemed to run smoother...
Even the 30min Auto-Saves seemed faster.... I'll post an update in the next couple of days..
Ran from 2p-8p no issues and from 9p to 7a (Heavy Traffic) No issues.

Glad it doesn't appear to be your gamesave. Maybe try cleaning (i.e. blowing the dust out of) the original box to see if dust/dirt on some contact might be causing the issue.

Yeah will have to do something along those lines.. the Disc Drive was messing up which is why I used it for MC server.. so right now I can't really run Disc Based games on it.. so that's whack.. well I got another 2 xboxes.. but it's just a hassle.

Other xbox crashed... For no real reason this time...after only 7 hrs of being up....... Clearly it's the game....these are well tested boxes. With a fan pushing the rear heat Ports upwards.....and a window unit that maintains the room at about 67°. And it's by a central air port (I like a cool room)
