Has anyone created a silver fish mob spawn grinder? Haven't really seen anyone do that. I like having a complex over the end portal since there's only one on a map and you can't move it. So was thinking about a convenient mob grinder next to it.
Below is one video with some info about specifics on killing silver fish. They are so small the gravity fall would be OK but looking for neat ideas.
If you watch ethos videos on youtube, hes made one in his lets play. The thing about him though is that he makes insane contraptions like that for fun. Its basically useless if you have a different mob grinder and looks like a pain to build. If you want a huge challenge then go for it, but i would recommend just destroying the spawner...
well. you could use a crusher. i dont think a lava blade will work.
one question... y cant you move the end portal. as far as i know. you can make your own. since the end portal pieces should be craftable correct me if im wrong on that point. since i play creative mostly now. but im almost certain ive heard you can craft them on pc. just in case a ravine or cave disrupted the spawning. and ie made multiple end portals on my pre end survival map(its creatve now so i used the pre built blocks) from back in the first few months of the game. and i even have my own end. id turn auto save off and see if u can move it. remember that th lava is part of the portal and must be placed under it.
If your looking to make an XP grinder out of it check out DocM77 on YouTube. Ethos while good is more of an experiment as he is using them for mining lol. If you want to collect a bunch of silverfish blocks though go with Ethos.

I play hard survival so there's just the one ender portal and no way to craft them. As far as I know you can not move them. I have tried breaking them... but maybe ther is a way I didn't try.
I don't belive that lava is part of the portal. it's just always in that room like the silverfish spawner.

i repeat the lava IS part of the portal. ive made several. without the lava the portal will NOT work...
if it wasn't clear enough the first 2 times.. if you try to construct an end portal place all the pearls but dont have lava. it will not connect. its like having a star gate without the seventh chevron. clear.
