Hello! I'm sure for lots of people, your main world IS minecraft for you. I wanted to make a small request that may seem a little strange!
Every update some items are out of reach, but with villagers trading system just around the bend, you could take advantage of this by having a new villager.
The "Lumberjack" who sells lumber and saplings. That way we wont miss out of that lovely jungle wood on our old worlds.
Another alternative would be the starter chest, but this might be too easy
Here goes my other question. I have a village pretty far away that spawned villagers after I went in that area (this map is pretty old) so I was very lucky to get 2.
I built a minecart across the map and then I had a thought....around our area we have about 20-30 aniamls caged up. We tried to get more and they started to de-spawn in relatively small fencing in the next area over. (the next area over happens to be a desert if this makes any difference)
My question is...will my villagers despawn if I bring them to this area?
And a counter question....I have a zombie spawner...in the PC does the Zombie villager spawn in the zombie spawner with the zombies? or do they have to be infected....because this could be an alternative to get villagers in old maps by curing them from the spawners...
Villagers do not despawn, but will probably eat up passive mob counts. I could be wrong however as perhaps villagers will also have thier own limits, only 4J would be able to answer this.
Actually I thought the villagers have their own # count. Of course like the other person said, unsure if true or not. Haven't done any of that kind of testing or looked more into it. It just seems more feasible from a programming standpoint. Since villagers are pretty much an entire other category. Like the drops are in different categories, albeit I think at least 2. regular drops and the painting/frames one. Is the only example I could give, but can't say whether it is a good or bad one.
Like all else said, villagers don't despawn. Now only if we have a way to lure them like the actual passive mobs...:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
well, i am not sure how helpful this will be for you, and i am still fairly new to minecraft and i haven't played the PC version at all.
at the current time, as far as i can tell, the Villiager AI is not yet activated. they are unable to open doors or gates, and can not climb ladders and vines. As far as zombies go, they can not yet be turned into normal villiagers, and they do not interact with any mobs. they only target Players.
as far as moving them from one place to another, it is possible via mine cart or just general herding. tho herding is difficult at best. my longest succcessful herding of a villiager is 93 meters. but it took me over an hour. the current villiager AI is very primitave. as i mentioned before, they are unable to open doors or gates, and can not climb ladders or vines. if they are let out of thier houses, they eventually wander to who knows where. ( I found one over 200 meters from his home swiming in the middle of an ocean.)
Honestly, i dont for see 4J activating the villiager AI within the next couple updates. i still see a boat load of other items that need to be either fixed or activated before the Villiager Ai and villiager trading can take place. but as i said, i am new to Minecraft and i could be wrong.

I fully support the idea of lumber jacks and the idea of putting jungle saplings into bonus chests. I really do not want to create a new world for the 4th time now ...

Thanks for your time! : )
In the pc the zombie villagers appear from the zombie spawner. Maybe it is the same in the xbox too
Its a partial suggestion and a lot of villager questions, I feel like I'd benifit me more in this section.

Hey I truely thank you for the support! It seemed like such a simple yet obvious class to me. I mean...look at how much stuff is made from wood.
One villager wandered away and stands at the shoreline, staring off into space. He's been there for 6 days now.
Eerie.
