If you buy the disc version of Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, it will update exactly the same as the Arcade version.
Mods will never be a part of the Xbox 360 Edition and 4J is still working on Texture Packs. Once they're finished, they'll be sold as DLC like the skin packs.
Keep in mind that both of these things can only happen with an internet connection. Yes, the physical copy should update through LIVE alongside the arcade version. Mods, by the current definition in the spring of 2013, will never be added to MC360. However, it is always a possibility that 4J will release more monumental in-game content as DLC at some. Texture packs are already supported in MCXBLA, and 4J have been working on it. The best thing to do is be patient. The top priority right now should be updates.
ah yes. the last update added the texture pack compatability correct nose job?
and OP. no worries. we are pretty laid back here. its the mods u gotta look out for.. lol....
mods by definition could be added to minecraft xbox360 same as on pc, well. similar. where as on pc you only need to download the mods, you would have to mod your entire xbox. and the minecraft mods alone could get your account modded. more so with a full equipment mod.
but since much of minecraft is built on mods and 4j has said several times they are looking at user created content for future minecraft 360 use its not inconceivable some sort of tool set or "mod" pack could be added. though it wouldnt be a mod.
and texture packs are a huge topic of debate. like nose job said. they are supported. but 4j is working to create their own so it may be a while before we see any.
you see. mods and texture packs on the pc version are all created by the players. and generally offered free. this creates an issue for 4j. they want to add the content. and stay true to the things people loved. but they have to make it al themselves and not step on the toes of those who created these things in the first place. its not as if they, the modders, have any actual intellectual rights to the property. and most companies would say hell be damned. and steam roll right over the modders. not 4j theyre classy like that. so should we see texture packs. expect something similar to the more popular packs. but also very different.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. The Sphax Texture Pack creator has already said he's been talking to 4J about adding his texture pack to the Xbox 360 Edition. It's extremely likely we will see actual PC texture packs on the Xbox 360.

ahh. well that's a totally different story. if hes actually going through a licensing process and they are giving him creative credit he may be seeing some royalties. but it still shows that 4j respects the modders as developers. thats good news since there are some amazing texture packs (some will break my visuals. some slight trickery i do.)
it may be a money point. is it more cost affective to simply recode. and input preexisting texture packs. or to create there own. also im sure they dont want to make something that people are gonna look at and go WTF, and start flipping tables over. cuase it looks like a pc modders texture pack.
either way. it seems obvious that 4j respects the modders.
