Hello. On my survival map I recently built a tower almost to the sky limit and now that I'm done with it, I can't for the life of me decide what to do with it. There is plenty of space inside, and I want to use it up. But I want it to be something atleast somewhat practical as well.
you could divide it into levels and put a village inside. for instance the blacksmith level would have a dozen furnaces, lava storage, etc.
This is a good idea, but maybe a bit too specific. You could treat the levels as sectors to a parent district. Say the first is a residential district, consisting of three levels, or sectors. You could call these 1a, 1b, and 1c. One may want to build other kinds of areas, like an industrial district, market district, maybe have some type of hall near the center of a tower. A town square, so to speak. Entertainment districts, hydroponic agricultural farms, the list goes on. A good idea would be to try and keep the sectors of a particular district at least somewhat original compared to the others. Give each level some thing(s) that the others don't have. You should have several residential areas scattered up the tower, every fourth district or so, and they should range in quality. Obviously a more extravagant residential district would be closer to markets, entertainment districts and whatnot, just as it wouldn't likely be right above/under an industrial district.
This is actually a really cool idea... Too bad I am terrible when it comes to building architecture.
new idea: leave the inside completely hollow and build small terraces around the building with your stuff. place furnaces on the third floor terraces and coal fuel on the 19th floor and items that need to be smelted on the 7th floor terraces on the opposite side of the building. then and only then give your friends a tour and see what they say.

actually. thats not a bad idea. or at least its a seedling of an idea. what if you branch off from it and create small functional buildings on floating islands attached via arch bridges. and in the center there are paths connecting the outer ring and bridges. and you could have a water fall with a spawn platform on top so its a water fall and mob grinder.
seems a resource heavy for survival. but maybe. also. you should dig the tower out all the way to bedrock with a huge skylight all the way down and mark each level where ores are found.
also a bit labor intensive for survival.
sorry creative has ruined my survival concepts....
oh. also a farm would be a great idea. each level has a crop that in some way can be either auto harvested or harvested with the push of a button so there is a common collection point.
cactus is the easiest. if u place a block where the second or 3rd block would grow then when it grows it will automatically break off
a cool battle arena on the top would be awesome too.. idk. i have a lot of ideas. lol.
and of course an observatory with a balcony overlooking the entire map with signs labeling the other areas you can see
Any ideas?
