Ok first off me and my nephew are playing trying to play through the game legitly to try and beat the game. But are having trouble finding melons / melon seeds to make some health potions to take with us to the end.
I know melons are only found in abandoned mineshafts and we have serched for literally days and days trying to find some for potions .
Can anyone please help us locate some, it would be GREATLY appreciated and helpful to us.

It might be a good idea to post the coordinates of abandoned mineshafts you have already found. Keep in mind, there is still a chance that your world contains no melon seeds. Also, I'm thinking this belongs in this thread. Hopefully you will have some luck there.
I won't be able to get to it until Wednesday, but if no one has posted anything by then, I'll give it a shot.
You can also create a duplicate of the seed on your own Xbox and go into creative mode and search that way. If you think about it, it's not really much different than asking me to go looking for you and post coordinates since what I'm going to do is, in essence, create a duplicate of your seed and go into creative mode to look.
If you want to do it completely legitimately, then your best bet is to quadrant off your map by going to X0, Y0, dig down to about Y25, since most mineshafts interest that level, and start digging (not blasting) out towards each of the edges. Explore the caves you open up both up and down a few levels. If that doesn't turn up a mineshaft, divide each quandrant in half, and start digging again. Most Xbox maps seem to have 2 or 3 fairly large mineshafts in them.
