Hey guys in minecraft I made a cool house(not to small, not to big). It is a small area of land but there is a giant area of land to the left of my world with the only village. So should I move? P.S. Don't say " It's up to you".

The problem is that it is up to you. Do you like where you live/the size of your house? Stay. Do you want a bigger house/to expand your farms/etc.? Move.

Stay in your "country cottage" and then build a city house near the village. Connect the two by underground rail for a safe quick trip between the two.

It's not up to you. I am the decider. You should place your home within sight distance since it's the only village. Maybe on a small hill or mountain retreat as an overlord. Your current home can be one of several you build as vacation homes or guest quarters.
Your current house will always be there. Move to the village, build a wall around their village with room for your farm and light up the interior area to protect the villagers from spawning mobs. Now your game has more purpose. Raise your village into a thriving Kingdom. Read this from the Minecraft Wiki on how to grow your Village:
"Villagers will mate depending on the number of valid doors. A valid door is any door (within the city radius) where the number of "outside" spaces within 5 blocks (in a straight line) on one side of the door is not the same as the number of "outside" spaces within 5 blocks on the other side of the door. A space is considered to be "outside" if it is hit by the sun during the day, i.e. it is transparent, and has nothing but transparent blocks above it all the way to the sky. (This means that starting a village deep underground, such as in a cavern or buried ravine, is not feasible.) Notice that a door is not a valid door without a roof on one side, or with equal amount of roof on both sides. Sometimes the villager AI (such as mating and housing) doesn't behave as expected until the game is restarted (as in save and quit, then reload the world).
Once housing has been established, villagers will then mate until the number of adult villagers equals 35% of the number of doors. Any remaining children will grow up as usual, resulting in a total number of adult villagers somewhere above one third of the number of nearby wooden doors. The type of villager that the child is doesn't depend on what type the parents are, e.g., two farmer villagers can have a child that is any of the occupations. Unlike other breed-able mobs, the parents and child have no personal interactions other than socializing. It takes exactly 20 minutes for a villager-baby to grow up to an adult." -http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Villager-
So you can either add more doors onto the existing houses, build more houses, or some have designed houses where the walls are made of only doors.
When they introduce the update which allows us trading with Villagers you will have more Villagers to trade with and thus more likely to find the trades which will be most beneficial for you.
the current villiges aren't all that great. i usually end up tearing mine down and rebuilding them. so instead of moving your home, move the villiage to your home. it is easy, but time consuming, but you will have a feeling of great accomplishment when the new villiage is built.
before you start building, pin your villiagers in either fenced corrals or 2 block high areas. make sure to not open the doors for villiagers in buildings. (seems at this point, the villiager AI isnt good enough to allow them to operate simple doors or gates. unless of course you have pressure plates on them). Build a new house for a villiager. can be a normal house, or some kind of shop like a forge, butcher, library, church. then using dirt or sand, build a 2 block high pathway from either where you have a villiager penned in or a house that has a villiager in it, (make sure you are inside the path) then simply herd the villiager to the new house. when you get all the villiagers moved, you can tear down the old villiage, or even completely remodel it. your choice.
one trick i use when remodeling a villiage is to build my new house so that it shares a wall with an old one that contains a villiager. when the new house is completed, cut a hole in the shared wall, herd the villiager through the hole, board the hole up, and now you are free to tear down the old house.
but no matter what you decide, in the end, the choice is yours.
