I've noticed some lag post-TU10 as well. A small but noticeable delay between mining/placing a block and it actually disappearing/appearing. It's definitely not my connection since I'm playing offline most of the time. Mobs also aren't the reason because the lag persists even after I save, quit, and load the world on peaceful.
Whether I'm playing on a newly created world or one where I've uncovered the whole map already also doesn't make a difference, and neither whether I'm working close to the edge of the map or in the center, or in the overworld or the nether. There aren't any complicated redstone circuits in my world at the moment (only a simple mechanism for a drawbridge consisting of 10 sticky pistons wired to a simple XOR gate and two levers), no mob farms except a very well lit three blocks high 16 x 32 room where slimes spawn occasionally, and only six furnaces where I'm currently smelting cobblestone to smoothstone.
However, the lag doesn't persist all the time - it comes and goes. It's still annoying, though.
