I am not near a console at the moment and oddly enough I can't seem to find this information online anywhere.
I just need the coordinates/ size of the entire nether on the Xbox version. I am planning to build a zombie pigman farm and need to test some dimensions etc. but ran into an issue with size.
I need the largest x coordinate the largest and lowest y and the largest z.
Overworld is 1024x1024x128 it has 4 region files that are 512x512x128 in dimension, but only 8**x8**x128 are mineable, not sure why though.
I'm guessing it's because they thought a seemingly infinite ocean (thanks to render distance) at the edge of the world would look better than the void. Either way, it still appears pretty strange. But yes, you hit the technical nail on the head. Even more technical, an 864x864 area of the overworld is explorable, meaning you can venture within it. Yet the area you can actually alter (without external assistance) is 862x862.
Don't question my logic when it's the A.M....
Looking at that again, I have no idea why I gave half of the Nether's size...or something close.
Yeah, the 144 kind of threw me off. I can see how someone could forget about the negative coordinates, I've done it myself. But... that would be 142. xD
EDIT: Figured it out. If you forget about negative coordinates for the overworld, you end up with 432x432. Divide that by three and you end up with 144x144.
Given the limited size of the overworld on the xbox, I wonder how many of us would like to see the netherworld the same size as the overworld? 284x284x128, is very small for all the future things we have to fit inside it. The overworld is 864x864 and takes less than 2 game days to travel from side to side. If we made the netherworld the same size we might have a problem with portals transportation (ie the smaller area travels quicker to the next portal) but we have trains to move us. How many people would prefer a larger nether? There would be more resources for us to gather for survival mode.

I see no real point.
All the portal paths made would be wrecked and the older worlds would have Bedrock walls with much more trapped behind them (until you reset, which some may not want to if it's a developed Nether).
The Nether has plenty of every resource as is--I actually have a surplus of everything Nether.

Thanks a million!
The Nether is 1/3 the size of the Overworld, so it's 144x144x128, or something very close.
This is including the stupid bumpy walls....

Retired Staff284x284x128, the overworld is 864x864. Also, to the OP, there is no negative Y. That would be the void under the nether.
thanks for posting the numbers.
Overworld, nether & end all have 4 region files each.
