The coolest thing i have ever made were statues of the four main avengers and stark towers in the middle i also have a flag with captain america and a rainbow bridge to thor.
hah. sounds pretty sweet actually. wouldn't mind seeing that you should post some pics.
the coolest thing Ive built is something I'm not quite done with and that is a game of thrones inspired castle/ keep reminiscent of winterfell . it also takes key architectural notes from fantasy architectures from the lord of the rings trilogy.
the coolest thing I have built on the xbox version was a secret door in my basement, I would love to post some pics but the world got corrupted on my hard drive so I had to delete it, it was a piston door of course, witch was controlled by a toggle switch the activator in the main house was a pressure plate on a fence that was activated by an item thrown through a painting into a stream of water, and under the pressure plate was another stream that pushed the item to a collection box where you could get it back, there was also a button on the inside to open and close it with too, on the pc version the coolest thing I built was an automated joint rolling machine, it took me using the mods herblore, redpower 2, and industrialcraft with the custom machine recipes add-on. It started with a toke/sugarcane farm and block breakers to harvest the top 2 parts of the plants(toke grows like sugarcane in 1.4.7) the block breakers were on a timer set long enough to let the farm grow completely before harvesting again, after being harvested the toke and sugarcane would go to a buffer where they would wait for a retriever to call them to the correct path, the toke would be taken to an induction furnace to be dried, then into a macerator to be ground up,(this is the custom machine recipe I added for this project) once treated it would be sent to a redpower project table to wait to be rolled. The sugarcane would be transported to a project table making paper and the paper would go to the first project table I mentioned where the treated toke would be waiting and when the button on the other side of the wall was pressed it would pull a joint out of the table and deliver it to the chest in front of you when you push the button, you could even recycle your roaches by putting them back in the chest and another retriever would pull them to another project table making joints out of roaches.
My castle.
Is pretty big
And it keeps getting bigger.
Most of the walls are also hallways and there's a few nice towers.
Can anybody think of what I can add to my castle other than a kings village complex, farm, housing, a very secure compound where I will most likely make a secure dungeon to store things in. ??

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
It's not much to look at, but I built an eight-panel track selector wired up to a complex string of rails. Push any one of the eight buttons and the junctions arrange themselves to bring you to different locations: duel spider spawner, skelly spawner, zombie grinder, tree farm, mineshaft, End portal, and nether portal (positioned so it takes you directly into the fortress). I haven't wired up the last button because I have no destination yet.
There are detector rails going to various And Gates and Xnor Gates hooked up to the main circuitry so that no matter which button is pressed, riding the track the other way always brings me to my base.
That castle... is pretty amazing. It definitely beats the crap out of those massive cobblestone boxes I'm used to seeing. Quality over quantity, I always say.
My best build thus far:
And my favorite part, this super amazing program counter:
^^^ Decoder connection to shift register and a MUX to choose between flip flop and decoder outputs.
^^^ D flip flop connections, forming a basic sequential shift register. This will determine how programs run most of the time.
^^^ Side-view, just because.
So sexy
Remind me to throw some decorations on the outside of my castle.
At the moment all I have is tall and narrow iron bar windows.
Need some good vine, fence and arch work to pretty it up.

Nose_job - you're creation is OK, I guess. I really think you should vary the block type more. Everyone always says you should build with a variety of blocks. You should put a waterfall on top. That would look good... waterfalls and redstone go really well together.
OK, enough sarcasm. It amazes me that when a redstone build is done really well and very compact, there is almost always a beautiful symmetry and pattern that makes the mechanical structure become a work of art.
Wolf, awesome tower. Killenjoke - your's too. Great work! I'll try to get some pics of some stuff I've done.
On XBox survival it's probably my Pigman/Ghast/Magma cube farm I built In the nether by blowing up all the netherrack in there with gunpowder from my overworld mob grinder/XP farm to get gunpowder mixed with my sand generator.
Also I think I just invented a double piston extender/bud switch/pulsar thingy (Yes, All in the same device)... But I don't know the black magic behind it.. I'll post it when I figure out how it works..

That looks pretty cool. The coolest thing I have would be an arena based off of fable one's.
This was before we added flags, and a central tower to flood the dome so zombies and skelatons don't burn. Has waves and shops set up and spectator areas to watch. Shoot me a message if interested.

thanks man... that looks insane. is that your finished computer?
ive been getting into redstone pretty seriously lately and iv been having fun trying to create new ways to us it.
I have a few projects in the works, but one that i completed in 3 days over the easter weekend (and it was easter themed) would have been my giant (105 blocks tall) 3d hollow easter egg. below are a few pics i took of it.

Nope... Still not even close to finished. Well, pretty close in comparison to how long it has taken. But I still see at least another month of work, and that's just construction. That's not even including the horrific task of bug testing. I'm thinking about allowing beta testers in my world when I'm not around, and they could post any bugs found on the thread. (or in XBL message[s] if they don't have an account here) It will be interesting to see how many people get to play with it before a griefer comes along and destroys everything.
Definitely nowhere near that point. I'm thinking about just scrapping the idea for a printer and GPU. By the time the CPU itself is done, we will probably have glowstone logic, upside down slabs, lamps, and all sorts of other goodies. At this moment I will be eager to start on a smaller, faster, more practical CPU. I will probably save all the bells and whistles for the next computer. I greatly underestimated Project XENON when it was in planning. x_x I'm never working with 16-bit words ever again. (except maybe for opcodes)

i love your design on the right building

I'm not much of a mass-builder. I'm just not creative.

My best XBox creative is probably this http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1590248-redstone-castle-rush-an-objective-pvp-map-making-adventure/ I haven't updated it in a while but I will soon. I also like to think the thread I made about how to reduce redstone lag is pretty cool to

did you have any success with the printer?
that looks pretty sick wolf. especially the center section. i always have trouble finding places to build like that.
