When I make one where water flows them into a small area in which to kill, the spiders just climb the walls and avoid the water. How does one stop this or how did you stop this or create yours
could you place water sources at the top of the wall to 'flush' them down or use pistons to push them or create a room where they can naturally climb towards you for the kill?
I had the same problem. Make a pathway to the wall of the spiders. That will be you AFK room. Spiders can track you through anything from 16 blocks away. They'll fall down if you're leaning against the wall. They try to attack but since they can't do 2 things it'll stop them from climbing. Add me on xbox for the best design. Btw its in my survival world. GT Zephy KO
Cool, Yeah My GT is OverlookeD EnT .. What I do is dig the surrounding area.. and under the Spawner so that they fall down. It's best to set it in a straight hallway after the drop.. so the track you "head on" The One I'll show you uses 2 spawners so it'll show you how they react as they try to get at you from the side wall and it's all glass so you'll get a good idea.
As stated, iron bars are very useful when dealing with Spiders in general. Block + Iron Bar (Or Fence) + Block stacked vertically is something they cannot climb. Personally, though, I just like using Cacti for my Spiders Grinders. You could always lure them into a chamber and crush with pistons.
FYI, Cave Spiders are a pain in the butt to do anything like this with. Most likely you would end up getting yourself killed. As mentioned above Cave Spiders can fit through one block, whearas normal Spiders need 2 blocks to fit through. And the ability to poison you is definitely something you need to consider!
That one I've used with great results. The point of placing the iron bars on the walls is to stop them from climbing the walls I believe.

He said spider, not cave spider. Hope you understand.

if you can damage them, and almost kill them and gather them in one spot, splash potions of harming are amazing.
