I haven't played the update yet, but did you click on one and no hearts appeared or did you click on both? I've noticed in some PC updates the hearts don't appear but it still works if you click on both anyway. Otherwise its just a bug.
You reached the maximum breeding amount. Kill some animals in your world so you can breed. I can breed perfectly fine. Btw this has been happening since TU9. They need to add a message saying "You have reached the max amount of animals, kill some to breed more"
When animals have been bread recently they'll not breed again for a short period of time. Also, there is a limit to how many animals can be in an area. You may have reached a max, if so Murder them all down to atleast two each. You're using them for food anyway, why keep a bunch?
Hey thanks for the help guys. I actually just started breeding. I do see the hearts, and they do start dancing around, but nothing happens. Also I don't think I have hit the max, because last week I was breeding like a mad man.

UPDATE: Went ahead and got some friends together and murdered every animal we could find in a 400 block radius. Looks like I can breed now. Good call you guys thanks for the help.
Time to dress in the sheep skin and...oh, wait, typing that'll definitely go the wrong way...
Uh, you probably hit the animal cap.
If you have only a few penned animals, some may be stuck out on ledges or in caves connected to the surface.
If the latter is true, make sure none are left there and then seal the cave(s) shut.
