It appears Notch is second place he has fewer "no ways" then the person in first place
are a few bugs going to stand in the way of notch taking and holding first place. He seems to be climbing faster as well while the leader has slowed down to a crawling pace while I was putting this together in notepad the numbers change twice so I had to go back to the pc calculator again and rework the numbers again.

Last look Markus “Notch” Persson needs 24195 to match the lead plus a 5000 votes to safely hold the lead because it is already the weekend in some counties

To bad Minecraft does not have something like the Unix wall feature with in the game to let everyone know to vote and where to vote. I think he would blow this out of the water.
