Half of what you said was not readable (not trying to sound rude). What i made out is that your wondering if chests are supposed to open and close when you access them. The answer is yes, they are supposed to open when you use them, and then close when you quit using them. Does that help any?
What I think he's getting at is like the same thing when you try to take down a door and it flaps open and shut repeatedly. I personally have not had that happen but will keep a lookout.
No, the most I've had is a chest turning invisible and a few misbehaving due to server lag.
Any SSP or CSP chests have been just fine.
I just had 3 small chests turn invisible on me, and I play strictly offline single-player. Opening them made them turn visible again. What's up with this weirdness? It's the first time I see it.
hmm... never had a chest that continuously did the open animation while looking inside... That is a new one on me... Although something similar has happened in the past, where the chest would double open when looking inside once. Also one time it would play double sound when opening once. Both those have been thought to be corrected.
Might be a rare occurrence that that specific spot might be corrupted but then again whom is to say. least likely. Could be just a glitch in the animation being lagged in that specific spot for some reason. Very unsure what would cause an individual spot to do that when it is not corruption, or partial...hmmm...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

I've had this happen a few times since TU11 in one world where I have a fair number of chests in a single room. I haven't had it happen yet in worlds where I only have 1 to 3 chests, although I think someone else reported in happening in a world where they only had 1 chest. I think it may be part of the lighting bug issue and their attempts and fixing/adjusting that. I used to think it was lag related, but I'm not really thinking that way anymore.

I was hoping you would reply, since you're so well versed on the game. I should add some details. No, this wasn't just an isolated room with 3 chests. The reality is more complicated.
I had just finished adding 2 double chests down at bedrock level to my mining-area storage facility. That brought the total up to something like 24 of them. Then I went up the stairway to the 2nd basement floor of a large building (which serves as access to the mines). From there I went up some steps to the 1st basement floor, where I have 4 double chests and 2 singles. (The reason those are singles is space and layout of the room. If they had fit without having to redo the room, they would also have been doubles. They are stacked in a corner, with one space between them.) Those 2 singles appeared to have vanished, and my heart sank. Then I walked up to the seemingly empty space, and I couldn't get there. Obviously, there was something solid, but invisible, in the way. I pressed the "Open' button, and presto! They reappeared. After closing the bottom chest, they remained visible.
At this point, I was paranoid. What else had gone wrong? I ran back to my mines, no problem. I ran back to the troubled room, the chests were still visible. (Phew!) I went upstairs and out to my rail system, aaand . . . dammit! I use a single chest at every railway stop to hold extra minecarts. The one there was invisible. I turned it visible like the other 2, then I rode my entire railway system, including my extensive nether quick transportation system. All other such chests were fine. My farm's chests were fine. All other sundry chests I could think of were fine. Everything seemed to have corrected itself.
This brings me to the present. I won't have time to do any more investigating over the weekend. I'll be elsewhere. I hope things remain fixed, and visible!
