Ever since the new update I have a dark room for my mob spawner and mushroom room and somehow light keeps shining through...? There are no open blocks every hole is filled and idk how light is coming in. there are also no torches inside at all.
Can someone help or tell em how they fixed it. Or if anyones experienced this problem.
Are these rooms by chance made of wood planks? If so there's a bug where the wood planks at times will not technically be "there", so I'd assume it would let light through in that case. Otherwise, I don't know how to help you.

I read a post by someone else earlier today indicating that light was getting into their mob trap from no apparent source. I haven't seen this sort of thing yet on any of my maps, but I suspect that it's probably related to the other lighting bug that is leaving blocks with torches on them very dark. Hopefully it is part and parcel of the same thing and will be fixed when the upcoming bug fix update gets released.
Hi me too i have problems with light that passes throught my cobblestone box, i removed some slabs and wall and still not dark. I copy my map and return on creative i switched night and it was dark and i switched to day and it was not dark i was like wtf happening... i have some pictures but dont remember what to do to make it show in forums. thanks

As BP said, you'll probably need to rebuild it to cause a proper block update. Alternatively, try flooding it with water and then removing the water.

Light seems to be able to pass through stairs, pistons and other stuff
I blew the whole thing up and re-built it.
It fixed the problem.
...Meh.
