Now that The End is neigh, chances are you're gonna need some help to take down the dragon. Here are some tips for setting up the world for your teammates. Any feedback is welcome...
.) Play alone for a few days to establish yourself and gather the resources to do the following steps.
.) Build a guild hall right in the middle of the map. Make a large meeting hall and an upstairs area with common chests and beds. Post signs declaring that this is the public meeting area and these chests are not private property -- free for anyone to take. You may also want to implement an honor system where everyone gives 10% of their resources to these chests. The guild hall would also contain a PROJECT CHEST where everyone drops off things for the current project (providing there is one).
.) When you find pumpkins and melons, go about all over the world and plant them randomly everywhere. This will ensure everyone will have access to them early.
.) Build a starter cottage by the spawn point. Not as grandiose as the guild hall, but a simple structure with a bed and some maps and starter equipment.
.) Declare that map-corner strongholds are private... assign one to each player -- these are off-limits to everyone but the owner unless they give permission to enter. Working together is important but letting the players have a place of their own is also important.
.) Create a railway system across the continent, with a stop at the guildhouse. If you have the means, build two, each dedicated for travel in one direction.
.) Just as a precaution, take all of your special items and bury them in a chest within the walls of your castle. Your buddies of course wont rob you, but why present the temptation?
.) Create a battle arena, a few feet deep and covered. To fight monsters and have an occasional go at PvP if you so desire.
.) Build an egg tower (4x4 tower, about 10 high, with a suspended level of water and 5-10 chickens swimming inside, letting the eggs drop) near the guild hall. It's slow going at first but soon you're going to have more eggs than you know what to do with. This way, everyone will have eggs.
.) Create an armory adjunct to the Guild Hall, and stock it with armors for the other players. Get an expedition together and have a mine party for an hour or two to gather ingots and kick it off.
