Okay, so I made a new world with the TU9 release and the resulting map was a freaking ocean with 1 tree and a few super tiny islands. However, I took the lemons and made lemonade. I built up one of the insignificant islands to accomadate the tree farm I raised using the saplings I got from that 1 tree, and then realized that there were no mobs spawning on said island/tree farm. Entire island is 55x55 grass covered dirt blocks with the center 10x10 area taken up by my house. The island is completly flat and for the most part 1 block thick with water below it. Not sure if the animals aren't spawning as a result of the island only being 1 block deep, the trees obscuring too much grass, the game hates me, or a combonation of those three. If anyone has any insight into this I would love to hear it, and thanks in advance!
Animals don't spawn in ocean biomes, in which your island is located.
I have a 48x48 area in a server with grass cover both on the surface and deep underground.
Of the entire time I've played, not a single animal has been seen there.
Dangit, kinda wish I hadn't spent all that time on that map then. Oh well, guess I'll have to survive off of farm stuff and the flesh of my enemies. Thanks BloodyPhoenix!
