Not an easy fix. Mojang has even tried to fix it on the PC, and practically broke the game's performance, and now they're rewriting the entire rendering engine.. Unless you're talking about a different lighting bug (I'm referring to the random black spots)
How about instead of yelling about it on the forums, you try to participate in helping to fix it.
4JSteve is looking for any and all seeds that have experienced the new lighting bugs. Please go post your seed there to help out instead of making a pointless redundant thread about it that does nothing but clog the forum and state the obvious.

He is likely talking about the TU9 specific lighting bugs.
Update came out 2 days ago. Threads like this are either insinuating that they can just easily fix this, or you think they don't know about this already. Just a little bit of forum browsing and you would know they know this bug exists. It's been plaguing the tu9 bug list. It may be annoying, but it's no where near game breaking. It's just as easy as placing 1 torch to fix it.

It is not as easy as placing one torch and placing a torch won't prevent you from getting burned to death by black unlit lava when trying to mine in a game called Minecraft. It can be incredibly hard sometimes to get the light to update properly. Sometimes even requiring exit and save, then load to get the light to update.
Yep it certainly isn't as easy as placing a torch as torches don't always work (unless you remove the torches then you can have lit up areas with no torch).
Sometimes even removing doesn't help. Especially when near blackened lava. That's why I also listed the 'Exit and Save' the load workaround as well.
Just a really bad bug that has no excuse for existence other than a complete lack of testing or a management decision to just ship it broken.
Strip mining is impossible. You take one block out, it's pitch black. Put the torch down, take the torch out, still pitch black. I've had to put the torch down 3 or 4 times for each block I dig out. You can't mine at all with these lighting bugs.
What I don't understand is that the lighting was perfectly fine just before the update. There were absolutely no lighting glitches and everything was smooth and very very nice looking. Now it's completely messed up.

EXACTLY! After the update I keep getting burned alive. Pure BS man! Can't even enjoy it anymore
Seriously, you guys thought this bug was new to TU9... it's been here WAY longer than that, just not as badly, or as frequently... just deal with it, or stick to caving until the bug fix comes out... simple as that.

Seriously, it is a new version and major version. This is much worse and happens all the time, evwerywhere, every world. They changed the lighting with TU9 and the massive breakages and lighting errors are from that.
This is not the minor once and a while single block or area when you first load/enter a chunk old/existing lighting bug.
