I've got a pirate ship with some cannons on it, and they occasionally misfire. I know some of the reason for it, though I don't know why. Anyways, I'm hoping someone who has some extensive knowledge in that field wouldn't mind joining my game on xbox and taking a look, possibly offer some solutions.
There is a TNT cannon that I use on one of my worlds.. it is great for pirate ships or land ones.. it is from Seth Bling. It is from the Super Pirate Battle Royal maps..
Here is the link to the tutorial that i used.. works great!
If the link doesn't, just search tutorial for cannon Super Pirate Battle Royal
You can msg me on and take a look at mine to see it in action if you need, but if you follow the tutorial it should be perfect!

Thanks for the replies. I'm not actually wanting to change the design of my cannons, I suppose I should have been more clear. I'm happy with their aesthetic look which actually looks like cannons and suits my pirate ship well, and there's no room to try some of the other methods. The cannons themselves are built/function fine, except sometimes other structures around them seem to make them misfire.
For instance, I have a cannon deck with 7 cannons on each side, and a circuit that allows me to fire all 7 of one side with the press of one button. At first I think I had my cannons too close to each other though, because it seemed that when one fired off it would throw off the tnt of the one next to it. Now, with enough spacing between them, the explosion doesn't effect the following cannons tnt and there are enough repeaters to delay the signal for the following cannon to fire until the previous one has already shot.
I also would ideally have the little personal boats placed on the sides of the ship off the main deck, as lifeboats. But unfortunately firing the cannons from the deck below would not only make the cannons misfire for some reason, but the shots also scatter the boats, so my current solution is to just not include the lifeboats until I can think of something else.
But now with the new update, I tried building automatic fireball dispenser turrets above the gun deck on the main deck. Aesthetically, and on paper, the design is exactly what I want. But for some reason, having the turrets built on the deck above the cannons seems to make them misfire and potentially blow up portions of my ship.
Again, I'm hoping someone can take a look at my world and possibly offer a solution for my situation.
But seriously, I think the best tip I can offer would be to plan ahead on what you want on each deck and how much space you'll need for it, and build the decks and shape of your ship accordingly. When I started the ship in the picture of the original post, I planned the decks with space for the crews cabins so they could sleep in bunks without glitching into the ceiling, and enough room for the cannons on the gun deck, etc.
