Has anyone else noticed the very annoying lighting glitches that came with the new update (update 9 : item frames etc...) ? This has been a problem on pc as well but Mojang ended up fixing it in following updates.
I tend to build and spend quite some time underground and having to log out and back in again just so the blocks I just mined stop being glitched is getting quite annoying now :/.
This happened to me, there is nothing that can be done.
Just place torches and update the blocks around it. If there are any torches already placed, break and replace them.
This is the most annoying bug. It's nothing like on the PC, that just has bugs in areas that haven't been properly updated. This affects me every time I destroy a block. I can't even mine properly due to this bug making everything so dark... Even with my Gamma up at 100%.
I have the exact same problem , and I also do the exact same things you just said to try fix it, but some of the black areas wont stop glitching. I'm positive minecraft pc had this in one of the spotlights or updates and they fixed it eventually, they have to be able to fix it...
if you read the known bugs list for TU9, you would realise this is already known about. I agree it is fairly annoying as it stops me exploring as quickly but not exactly the end of the world
Didn't know there was a list of known bugs. It just annoys me, especially at the moment because I just started a large scale underground build and I get it all the time now. I hope they fix it.
