I havent had a single problem in the End, but yes the lighting problem is an issue. Just mining and putting torches and then it stays black. Sometimes removing the torch helps. Everything else seems to work great though.
I've made 3 different worlds just to see, and all of them have had the lighting issues. I don't think it's contained to just certain worlds. At least not for me anyways. It seems to be universal.
I just created a new world to test out the updates. We have not gone into The End yet (yes, the world is online with 1-4 friends plus me), but the lighting bugs are just terrible. I was digging out a basement for my house last night and went to dig out some coal I found in the process. Random blocks under and around the blocks of coal would go completely black after I mined the coal out - and the darkness would not even subside/update after placing and removing a torch (which I tried 2 or 3 times, just to be sure it wasn't lag). It took almost a full minute to update with me AND a friend of mine placing then breaking torches and glowstone to get it to update to the appropriate light level. It was rather annoying. >,< I don't dare try to load any of my old worlds with all the talk of bugs plaguing them, and I have not bothered starting yet another new world either. The seed on this newly created world, made AFTER the update went through, is 5206089732220289909. Good luck getting this fixed. I have read up on this issue and how it has been plaguing the PC version as well. I do not envy you this task.
EDIT: Just read something up there that reminded me to include this as well. We also experienced the lighting lag. That is to say, after placing a lighting block (usually a torch in our case), it would light up a few blocks around the source and then take up to 4 seconds for the light level to update appropriately to the rest of the light radius.
No noticeable lag in the End until I flooded it with water. However, the seed does have lighting issues but have only noticed it with torches, haven't placed other light sources. Wherever I place a torch, only half the light radius shows up, then 1 or 2 seconds later the other half is lit up. Usually the right side of the torch is lit first, then the left. It's like if you're facing a car, the right high beam comes on first then the left. All of this happens offline, haven't tried online.
well, no duh there's lag in the end after you flooded it... flowing water is a HUGE memory hog, and the water flowing down into the void gives it 64+ extra blocks deep of memory hogging flow.
I'm ~quite~ sure it's been mentioned before, but the TU9 version of the Tutorial World (I was playing on a Gold Account, connected to the LIVE service, but playing in "Offline Mode") also has lag while playing in The End.
I noticed the most lag, during my battle with the Ender Dragon... especially when he was using his attack (fireball?). I think it was because it created an explosion effect. Sometimes the game would just sit there for a couple of seconds, before returning to normal play.
This was a ~freshly~ created world, too... made in Creative (I wanted to see if I would also suffer the lagging), and using an artificial End Portal to gain access to The End.
after reading some of these posts, I suddenly have a new-found respect for 4Jsteve, and understand why he doesnt post much.

Lighting glitch..to a point. while host, I don't experience it, except as a short flash just as the block is breaking...
to test If it was the world generation, loaded TU8 generated seed 1983338372
same thing, as host...while client, the blocks stay black.
didn't experience any problems in the end, at least on the second seed. havent gone to the first ones end.
Seed 1299992531 Lag in nether since tu9, lag in end but next to gone without enddragon. Lighting issues seems to be worse the further down one goes. Blocks 10 spaces from lava particularity bad, but can be fixed with water, removing torch, or exposing lava.

Seatbelts are not as confining as Wheelchairs. Buckle up.
My world wenever I move my screen splits and gets pixely in the center. Anyone else have this problem.
This sounds like some sort of resolution issue between the Xbox and your TV. Are you sure you have everything set up correctly and/or are all your cable connections secure?
lol, as far as I can see I got no lag in the end or overworld unless i'm playing with tnt (Im a silver member, so im stuck in one world untill the bugfix comes out ). Yes I said TNT, the game breaking, lag creating tnt. DEAL WITH IT!
