I love PC minecraft and all it has to offer, most people want to see many of its features added to MCXB360. But if it takes this long, I'd rather they just make new content.
I understand they have to decipher the original code from minecraft then convert it to code the xbox can run. But wouldn't you rather just have new content created specifically for MCXB360?
It would take less time to add additional features and add an incentive to buyers wanting a variation to Minecraft.
Actually I found a quote of it. It's from an interview with 4J Studios. Hopefully this answers your question:
"Ultimately, the 4J team's biggest goal is to catch up to the PC version of Minecraft...and then break away in an entirely different direction. The final release version of the PC game is the ideal, but future content beyond that is more a matter of delivering experiences that suit the platform. The Xbox 360 may not be able to go bigger than the PC, but that doesn't mean it's always going to exist as a "lesser" product by comparison, or even that it does right now.
"Currently what we're doing is obviously the 1.8.2 update [from the PC beta period] followed by the 1.2.3 update [from the final release version]. After that point, we're sitting down with Mojang and taking a look at where things are going and where things should be going next with it," Burns revealed. "Notch is also quite keen that we add in specific content for the Xbox which will not be on the PC, so we need to discuss that as well once we're at that point."
Once we get jungles, iron golems and trading.
Upside down stairs and slabs add away.
There's a million ideas worthy of being added over in the suggestion forums IMO.
Some more than others but 4J can work that out.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
I can understand the sentiment here, but i also agree that there's a lot of PC features i'd still love to see added. Trading, upside down and new decorative blocks, and of course any new animals or plants for my farm. I'm also in favor of infinite worlds, but i'd also like to find a way to make my old abandoned maps useful again. After all that , sure go crazy and add in some of the cool new ideas. I've contributed a few myself!
I really, really am looking forward to unique content as i play on the 360, but about half of my friends pay PC and i find the controls in that version to be atrocious (seriously, WASD is clunkier than a square fighter jet and can burn in the Nether for all eternity as far as i'm concerned!), and honestly have tried Tekkit and found it a bit boring. There's a tool to do everything for me automatically? Neat! So. . . what do i do now? Just build buildings? So what? I've got creative in survival now only with not quite infinite block, no fly mode and a crap ton of new block types to work with. . .
I'm really hoping the new content will help me convince them to join me in the Xbox version so we can all build and play various game modes! I really want to have a 4v4 fort battle where two teams build forts and try to destroy the enemy's while defending theirs from a similar assault!
I would think it would take longer to create new things then to recreate what the PC did. Also, there are some things that we cant have from the PC verison since they wont work on the XBOX anyway. I would like Withers and Witches and the new temples.
There will never be infinite worlds, if you don't think that is true then by all means inform us on how to do it. If it could be done it would have already been added, the xbox can not handle it. I want jungles, trading, anvils, increased height, iron golems, and the Wither before they take it in its own direction. Just the Wither though, maybe wither skeletons but none of those other lame enemies.. Oh and how enemies can pick up and use gear, that is a fun feature.
Once we have enough of the tools that were in th PC, then we could have our own special.....stuff. Seriously though, I can't wait. I feel bad when a PC player come to the forums and asks what we have and we say "We are kind of a weaker version of you". Now we can be all like "Yeah, plus we have this and that and some more of this and some more of THAT!!" Sorry, got carried away there.
4J has already said we will be getting iron golems and trading in the future, so I don't think we have to worry about that. I don't think we'll ever get infinite worlds as the xbox can't handle it.
But aside from that, I don't really want the new redstone update (xbox doesn't do redstone well anyways) or the scoreboard options. I'd rather have some kickass adventure maps or a way to link worlds together. Something unique to MCXB360.
Also I'm really hoping we get bear mob's. A theory was going around that since 4J added bear skins, maybe we were getting bear mobs.

Thoughts?
