On the PC is you press F3 it shows coordinates, entities, FPS, etc. Now I was wondering if it would be possible to put in on the xbox. I'd gladly like to see that. I want to know my FPS, entities, etc. Coordinates are already in the game, I know that.
You're probably going to ask my why FPS and entities? Well I have a mob system so i'm wondering how many mobs are spawning there and FPS because my world drops frames. It makes my friend lag so he is unable to play the world properly. So I know how many FPS am I running. Especially when I have lots of signs in my world which makes it lag.
Anyone else agree it'd be cool if they made it to the game?
F3 has not shown entities for at least a year if not more on the PC.
We already have access to coordinates like you said, and I see no need to know what FPS your game is running at.
Are you sure? I just checked an hour ago to see how it works. FPS matters to me. Tells me if I should slow down on signs or like decrease the amount of FPS some how.

It shows the number of entities. I was thinking you meant how it used to show the numbers above mobs and things a long time ago.
I just see no point in needing any of that information.
It really isnt necessary, it would be nice to know how many entities it takes to slow an xbox , but it doesnt take a wizard to see your frames jump. I think it isnt necassary because xbox lags anyway without their being entities just have 3 people on your world if you want to get to know how to spot frame jumps...... Do it with no extras ...be hardcore! (Mob spawners will lag you depending on design) as far s how many entities just make surr you dont pass the screen limit for xbox and you should be fine, avoid lots of lava and fire if you would like 1 free tip

Mine is etho's design. I'm sure that doesn't lag as much as others. No pistons required. Just water. So are you saying if I took out lava it would decrease lag/frame drop?
i think having the F3 functions running while the game is running would lag out the system even more. Trying to display more than one set of data while splitscreen mode would also get kind of crazy... not to mention that the print would probably be unreadable unless you had a huge HDTV. Also, I'm not sure where you would put it on the controller for easy access to it.
it would also be handy to find biome borders such as where a mooshroom biome actually changes to ocean for example.
Or even the block light level comes in handy when trying to calculate lighting in tricky spots.
could just pop a check box in one of the option menus to display debug info or something similar.
That's what i'm saying but I don't know if they could make F3 into the game.
Its more then just seeing 'mob' counts, it also shows chunk boundaries, which is something that would be nice to see without having to calculate it.
This type of data display should be only available in single player mode (not split screen), and a toggle-able option IMHO. F3 provides alot of useful information, and no its not heavy on the cup unlike others are saying.
I'm willing to bet that the debug version that 4J runs at their studios has this information, and its omitted from release versions.

I'd like to throw in my vote for more details. Heck, even if they can't throw it on the controller, use the keyboard or some keyboard combo.
Oh, and I really wish they would fix their button support to include keyboard responses. It's be nice to switch from survival to creative and vice-versa and hit load without putting the keyboard down. Ah well, at least the World Name/Seed box support it.
You are also able to use a USB keyboard to write on sign's with out needing to open up the "360" keyboard. Found that a few weeks ago when i can't use mic for live because people near me are sleeping (my voice can carry a long ways, if i yell, people over 1/2 a mile can hear me clearly. too bad i never was interested in being a drill sergeant, i got the voice for it!) so i use signs and a usb keyboard to chat with my friends.
this is what gaming has been reduced to. to bad, playing games was actually fun at some point. now its all about the FPS and graphicd and other .
That is the beauty of Minecraft, good sir. If you want to be technical and make the game so automated that you don't have to do a single thing, you can do that. And, if you want to just play the game without worrying about anything and just 'mine' and 'craft', then you can do that too. Freedom, my friend..... freedom to do whatever you want. That's the Minecraft way.
But anyway, my original reason for posting was that I absolutely support a debug screen for Xbox. I mean knowing chunk and lighting information is a great option for people. Also entity count, biome, and coords are cool. I can't tell you how many times I have lost my map and then I'm screwed because now I don't know my location and have to go craft another map just to be able to say, "oh, I was were I thought I was."
Plus, having to carry a map just to know your position is a waste of an inventory slot in my opinion.
