Since this thread has been bumped I would say just play. I didn't really like the tutorial when I started playing just played with a friend. If I had a question I just asked them. I always play survival so when starting I did start on easy but now only play hard. Below are 2 videos. A first day and night in hard survival and a minecraft dance video. Both are good ways to start.

Just set 'em in a Survival World and if you have a separate account / alt account just play with them :).
