I am making a fun Mini-Game map in the latest version of MC360 edition. This morning, i build an awesome sleef arena and I find it hard o replace the floor. It takes too long! I was wondering if I could get a good guide on an Automatic Floor Replacer. (Or something like that) so I can show off the map to the public! I dont want to keep manually replacing the floor..... It would be a better convienence if I could just flip a switch! Please Help!
Enchanted picks with a bunch of smoothstone generators feeding into pistons might work, also when the update hits you could setup some sort of ice tray (ala Etho or DocM) although you would need maybe a sand floor underneath that you could remove once the ice all forms.
Their is a very simple fix for this that will most likely be the best option for your situation. Whenever the round is over just close the game and relog with the arena intact. This would probably be faster than replacing the floor manually. hope this helps.
I made a small house that has generating walls, i think it could work for floors to, first of all im pretty sure pistons (Not sticky) can push blocks up to 13-Blocks away, so dig 13 blocks down (Not sure if its 13), and then make a piston pushing up and down (Redstone clock) then make a cobblestone generator over top of it and then if the floors break then the pistons push the generated cobble stone back up to the floor, or if you want to hit a switch then just get rid of the redstone clock attach redstone to a switch and BA-BAM!

That could work but I bet it would be very irritating on a server with multiple people; not all at the spleef area for example.
I think the cobblestone (/smoothstone??) generator is the best bet.
Thanks for the help. I tried a few of your suggestions. Re-logging the server creates quite a problem with the other players. However, it works with Split-Screen. The sand generator is a good idea. But, I find problems with it. (Because it is gravity effected) I decided that the best suggestion was the cobblestone generator. I enchanted a few pickaxes so that it is destoryed almost instantly! Then i made two cobblestone generators and pistons on each side going along. I will try and make a better explanation and screenshots. Anyway, all of your suggestions are appreciated. Soon, I will be posting another thread for more help on another Mini-Game. I cant wait till then! In a few months, it will be able for download for all you viewers and contributers. Thanks guys!
This is my spleef arena, or atleast, a rough version of it. The arena size itself is 9x9, it uses 2 cobblestone generators to improve reload speed. You pretty much just power the pistons in the bottom right of the picture to hook the generators up to the clock. It works quite well for 1v1 matches, but I don't know how many people you'll be playing with. The only problem with this, is the lag. Occasionally the cobblestone on one side will just stop generating, and leave the pistons continuously pushing in and out, causing a ton of noise. I haven't found a way around this due to its unpredictability. Not the best spleef arena in the world, but I came up with it myself, so I was happy lol.

A smooth stone generator one, would probably be more spleef-like since it's easier to break.. just an opinion.

Your clock is too fast (causes the misfire) i know slowing it down with more makes it fill slower, but at least you won't get those misfires. (in my regular gen for collection i used 7 repeathers set to 3 ticks after receiving a 3 tick pulse from a limiter.)
I've messed with the timing of everything already, it may not be perfect, but like I said, it's only one side that messes up, the other generates just fine. It rarely fails but when it does I'm usually already bored of it anyway. I know smooth stone would have been faster to break, but with efficiency 4 pickaxes, its fast enough for me and my buddies that I didn't bother going through the trouble of remaking it with smoothstone. We usually do spleef in creative anyway, we can do bigger arenas, instant break blocks, can replace it faster than generators, no redstone lag, the list goes on and on. I just wanted to make one for survival as a personal challenge.
