Height increase will come, or some type of increase will come most likely height, when the anvil map format arrives, and it will arrive, its a superior method of handling maps, and using any type of reverse-psychology against 4j probably won't work.
To be honest I'm glad this update doesn't include everything yet as I'm not ready to 'leave' my current map and start anew. And for once i won't have to 'remake' a new world to get new stuff, as everything in this update i should be able to get from the start.
I'm grateful to 4j for all the hard work they have done, and for the features they have brought forward. They could have just given us the end/end dragon, but instead chose to bring forward a whole bunch of new things.
We all wanted more, its in our nature, personally i would have loved to see upside down stairs/slabs make it in this update, but they didn't, but they will eventually.
Seriously stop complaining and start showing a little gratitude, the old expression comes to mind here and that is you get more with honey then you do with vinegar.
"All that they give us"? They gave us updated terrain generation, a way to reset terrain in the nether, a new dimension, and a new boss mob. That's quite a bit of work for two months, plus all the features they brought forward.
Jungles and wood colors were in like, 1.2.5 full release.
It takes time to properly port stuff over to a different console - so if you want it right now, it's probably going to break the game.
Seriously, just let them work on it as slowly as they want. It'll just mean less bugs and less drama with your saves. Also, someone mentioned Villager Professions early on in this thread - I'd just like to point out all that is is slightly differently dressed villagers. You're not missing out on much.
I'm not complaining but you'd think that over time they would get faster at converting pc content into 360 content
I don't know if anyone has a list of the updates and the times they were released but i looked at one and it seems the updates come in sporadic clusters
Game launched in May 2012 First 3 months 3 updates then nothing until august then nothing til october which was 4 updates in 4 months now i guess after TU9 releases we will have another long wait then maybe 3-5 updates in a row don't know how many updates are planned
Would be nice if they kept adding all the pc content at least the stuff the 360 is able to run
I was disappointed a month ago when it was revealed that jungles would not be making it into this particular update... but I'm pretty much over that now. The Update log shows pretty much what I expected it to, so I'm not now disappointed with that. Overall, the big addition in this update has always been the End, which just doesn't really excite me all that much. Hopefully, jungles will make it into the update after this one. In the meantime, I'm just continuing to enjoy playing the game.
They have to at least be using the coding from pc as a reference so they at least have some idea of what they are trying to make granted i know nothing about coding
I know xbox is a different coding then pc but they are both microsoft there has to be at least some overlap seeing as windows 8 and xbox dashboard have tile interfaces

yes jungles were, but not all wood colored stuff was in 1.2.5... The planks were, but it was not until 1.3.2 that they finally had slabs(being the last of the colored wood stuff) in. The stairs were actually introduced somewhere in between those 2 points. I only say this because most don't realize that it was only colored planks in the beginning.... and slowly they added the other two on...
As for the villager comment, someone else said that better... They are not just dressed different, they have professions that affect the trades, which is the main reference in the trading system...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

Unfortunately "Microsoft" is not a programming language The languages in play here are Java (PC) and C++ (Xbox).
Obviously they have a reference point, but just like rewriting books in different languages, "translating" between the two programming languages can be tedious and time consuming.
Anything else is extra. In terms of going by the PC changelog, nothing was really skipped, as jungles and anvil file format came out later than The End on PC also. Also, as for it taking so long, I am guessing they did a lot more bug testing than normal, as this is supposed to be the version used on the retail discs.
There is a retail disc for Minecraft Xbox? Hmm... time to wake up and look. Lol Never heard of that.
On Topic: Yes I am alittle dissapointed my self on a few features that I would of loved to have already, but look at it this way. The game takes time to make into xbox codes (C++ I think...and stated by Koumas(ps awsome FMA avatar)) plus imagine all the bugs if they rushed the game? Like many others we are going to wait patiently (even if the wait for upsidedown stairs/slabs kills me... O_o) and it will all come to us eventually.

Yea, they've been bug testing/ fixing for like a month now I think. At least it seems like it's been a month since they first started announcing bug fixing. And if they didn't do the bug fixing then it would most certainly fail cert testing lol
First off, even though i think the update wont be out until at least the weekend, i still find myself checking the forums or my xbox first thing every morning. I'm not the only person doing this am I? Anyway, after reading the log, one thing I wanted to see was the Jungle. Even though I heard it wasn't on this update, I held out hope. Also, does anyone else wish there was just 1 more weapon???
I know I'm going to get a lot of crap for this but I don't care. Almost everyone on this thread sounds like spoiled children. How can you possibly say this update is disappointing? Even with all of the things that are being pushed (or shoved) forward, not to mention the things that the PC version doesn't even have yet, it still isn't good enough for you? Oh wah wah, we don't get jungles yet, BIG DEAL! At least we will get them! In case you haven't noticed, 4j has been releasing complete versions of things (like enchanting) instead of a little at a time. I would bet that in the next update we should get jungles, colored jungle wood and items, cocoa bean plants, increased world height, ocelots, villager trading, iron golems, upside down & corner stairs, upside down slabs, upside down trap doors, etc, etc. Sure, I'm disappointed that we're not getting pumpkin pies, but I'll get over it. Maybe we'll get those in the next update as well. Although there are still secrets in most updates that are not in the changelogs.
Although there are still secrets in most updates that are not in the changelogs.
Personally, I don't believe there are intentional secrets kept out of 4J's changelogs; and I certainly don't intend to start working up potentially false hopes based on the idea that there might be secrets and surprises forthcoming. There may be accidental oversights and there may be notations that are not completely understood as to what they entail and/or portions that have been misread by we consumers; but I think, unlike many computer gaming companies, 4J tries to be pretty honest and open about what they have been doing... and I do tend to respect them for that.
Honestly, I could care less about The End. It's a one-time boss battle that reaps virtually no rewards. Give me some substance that will actually make a difference in the game every day. Add som something that's not in the PC version! (Besides acid breath) For the sheer amount of work they put into making it happen, I would have preferred they skipped it entirely to work on better things. Namely, anything else...
Reminder: This is an arcade game not a call of duty game. This isn't that hard to code. Come on. 2 months to make the end. Shouldn't take that long. They already have coded EVERYTHING on the PC! Why does it take so long on xbox? It's not like xbox is hard to code just like the PS3. Not trying to say I hate 4J but seriously? This is an arcade game not a call of duty game that takes a year to make. Look it on treyarchs side. They get 4 map packs coded and a zombie map coded in a few months thats harder than an arcade game coming out with items and fixes. All that time used, they could've had upside down half slabs and stairs, redstone lamps, silk touch collecting ice (I think they kept that a secret so they fixed it already i'm assuming), possibly jungle biomes(I could understand that could take a little while to code), emeralds, and little bit more things. I appreciate them making it but it really shouldn't be taking that long. That's just my opinion. You guys can think whatever but I just know it isn't hard to code.

I think you pretty much said it all.
by proffeshions i meant trading and stuff
dude everyone gets updates at the same time, or a few secs appart

Retired StaffThey are not "converting" stuff. Everything has to be done from scratch, that's why it takes so long for those updates to come.

This is one of the perks of being a XBLA-only Minecraft player. The game does not feel incomplete to me, it feels enhanced with each update.
For players who are vets of the PC, it must feel like a jigsaw puzzle slowly getting filled in.
