I'm really looking forward to the new update but was wondering if anyone had a good strategy to beat the end dragon. I want to be ready so I can play immediately after updating.

I dont know they said the end dragons gonna be harder to beat than the pc dragon so I would Have armour with Feather falling Boots so you can destroy the healing things that you cant destroy with arrows, and for weapons a Bow with enchanted infinity and a sword when hes getting close. Sorry if this doesnt make sense typing in the dark.
Have a infinty bow, your gonna need it. Make pillars with snow golems, that will do extra damage. Have some enchanted iron armor or diamond armor. Diamond sword is crucial, enchants don't really matter besides sharpness. Have some some healing potions and strength potions, this will make it a lot easier incase your about to die or if its taking forever to kill the damn thing. Do all these things and fighting the ender dragon should be a breeze.
Destroy all the pillars and stake end the rest of the fight. It's going to be a long one without good enchantments. Oh, and don't look at the enderman.
How are we supposed to deal with the blocked crystals? Stacking up to the top of the pillar and breaking the bars with a pickaxe first?
Pretty much. It's really not that different from the towers that are too tall to shoot with arrows on the PC version. Except the Dragon only has a bite attack, not ender acid the Xbox dragon has.
If you want to destroy the crystals, use a bow and lots of arrows(or infinity enchantment). Then, kill with diamond or iron sword. Bring pumpkins to protect from endermen!

Well, with the supposed new abilities and whatnot, there's not much you really can prepare for. My suggestion would be to prepare like you would in the PC version and then adapt it as soon as you are aware of what the abilities do.
