So I have seen quite a few posts saying "Should I switch to creative to get this"
I know I would but i'd rather finish everything in my world first. I'd have to finish my Atlantis "Under water city" (3/4 of it done), my castle (Finished but need some people to start a village and store there), blaze xp farm, and terrain forming or whatever it's called. Yeah it's quite a long and big project to make if you ask me. By the time I finish everything, I would make a copy of my world then the second one would be switched to creative. I would add the ender portal frame, spawn villagers in my own made village, and maybe watermelon. Depends.
By the way "Little off topic", mooshrooms do spawn in worlds made before TU8 "Possible for some worlds." I have 4 in my world. My world was generated in 1.7.3. Just a heads up for some of you who don't have any.
My seed -327599079 (not sure) or try Watermelon. That works too.
Would you switch to creative mode just for this?
Would you switch to creative mode in your world if you didn't have the new things?
Ill do you one better, I Will delete my world title "MC TU8" and then make another one title "TU9"
I think you understand where Im coming from right? ( I don't care really)
It depends... what goal did you set for this world before you started it. Did that goal involve getting to the end? Will you feel that the world is ruined for you if you don't get to the end or are you more likely to feel that the world is ruined for you if you go into creative? Only you can really answer these questions for yourself.
For me, generally if a set a goal for a world and then cannot make that goal; I'm happy to declare that round of the game "lost" and start a new world to attempt to achieve the goal again. As you can guess, I don't tend to get too sentimental about whatever structures I build in any world. For the world's that I started before 1.8.2; the End was never a goal so I probably wouldn't ever consider entering creative mode to get an End portal.
However, if I had a post-1.8.2 world where I had made the goal to go to The End and then found out it didn't have an intact End portal; being a survivor and feeling that the world should have spawned with an intact End portal, I would probably go into creative to get one working since surviving, to me, means not giving up every time the way gets a little bumpy. Creative mode is a valid tool of the game, put there intentionally by the developer for use by the players when they feel justified in using it. I also would be very willing to pay the price (i.e. having the leaderboards and achievements disabled for that world). It's not cheating... cheating is when to try to get around paying the price... like duping in order to get items but preserve leaderboards and achievements.
BUT, that's what works for me and it may not work for you. It's really best if you work this one out for yourself. That way, you have the best shot of being pleased with your decision yourself.
ETA: In reality, however, I haven't set a goal to get to the End in a world in which I haven't already confirmed that it has an intact End portal. A little pre-planning helps to smooth bumps in the way before the questions ever arise.
Just like all the worlds that came before it... It would be set aside and forgotten in exchange for a new one.....
I'd rather not have to start a new world..... but I refuse to switch it to creative... Not my thing.

Check it out for awesome tutorials and constant content!
I have started several worlds and worked hours only to find I had no sugar cane or pumkins or blaze spawner. Several minutes of severe anger and disappointment at this stupid game that I will under no circumstance ever play again....then I start a new world. If you're not playing hard survival then you're not enjoying the game to it's fullest. There I said it.
I have a TU6 world, so Lillypads and all Fortress-related items do not exist for me.
Even so, I never went into creative to obtain the items.
Survival is survival, and suddenly becoming God doesn't make the world fun or even purpose-serving after that....
If I still had my TU0 world, I'd be using it, even though it wouldn't have Moss Bricks, Nether Bricks, or anything else added later on....
If I would have a awesome house and have tons of stuff then I would change it to creative world I would have already done everything in that world. That is what did for a 1.6.6 world when creative mode came out.

I wouldn't switch either. It annoys me having that little screen pop up saying it was made in creative, so I only use it to practice redstone things. I'd just start a new world to get new stuff.

I think I forgot to mention switching back to survival. I know its cheating but when im completely finished with my world then I make a copy of the same one for that world and just add whatever I dont have. My way seems fair and legit to me. Thanks for the opinions!
Creative is only cheating if you consider it cheating. Personally, I like survival mode, and I enjoy doing everything myself; its much more satisfying to see what you've accomplished that way. But, for example whenever the Jungles are added, I won't feel bad about using it to add some jungle tree saplings that I could normally never get. Of course I'll have a TU 10 (or whatever number they come in) world too.
I went through this on my 1.7 world. I opted to add only the "new" items, and give up leader boards since don't really care. Still play that world in survival.
Also, I LOVE building small villages and would gladly help you spruce up your survival world.
Since it isn't cheating, I would switch. I made a world that lacked Nether Wart. I went in to Creative and made a Nether Wart farm. I've done it other times as well when my world didn't yield any Sugar Cane or other important items.
Yes and No. I think everyone has had that one incident where you had your most important items on you, and then you accidentally fell in lava. If I have no way of obtaining the new items easily, I'll simply start a new world.
Creative to add things... hmm... Not for a couple of my worlds, and especially not for my 1.7.3 world in which the end will never touch it. I just do what I can with each world setting goals within the bounds of the world itself. I will still be able to use quite a few features from each update so far. At least the ones that add something new in the block or mechanic department that is craftable.:D
Right now I do have one creative world for testing and another for well survival creative... So I just set whether I will be using creative or not from the beginning and go from there. Plans change, but for those two I mentioned, I just don't see it ever happening.. I would rather add worlds to my collection than utilize creative that way. I have not much interest in creative, although I do a bit of testing or something similar to that in it on separate maps.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
