So I made a two pretty big pig and chicken farms and I remember seeing a video for the automatic pig killer that they'd walk through a hole and automatically get burned cause their meat to get cooked. Is there any other auto killers like that? Or just any other advanced farm tactics?
If you know how to make a cobblestone generator, you can link the repeater system to a piston gate so it could smash the animals repeatedly, and I thought you could only get cooked meat by A: Cooking the Animal and B: killing the animal with a weapon that has a fire enchantment.

Fire blocks will also work. Lava should as well, but I wouldn't expect a very high yield due to the drops being destroyed by the lava. Also, being repeatedly smashed by blocks won't do much damage. (if any at all) A better solution is pistons that extend to an enclosed space for an extended amount of time, suffocating any entities inside. From what I've heard, this also isn't a great solution as drops can be lost and become trapped behind the piston's plunger.
I automate very little. Except a single mob grinder, which I mainly use for bones and arrows, and a fully automatic cobblestone generator. Even though the mob grinder does the killing, it's not fully automated, and it doesn't give XP. I still have to go to the grinder every five minutes to collect the loot, and I have an arena where I fight mobs with sword and bow. I feel automation kind of ruins the game. Well, too much automation does. A little bit doesn't hurt, but too much of anything is a bad thing. I still manually breed and kill my animals, and I still manually plant and harvest my crops. Nothing automated there.
Hmmm....Have we gotten this lazy to make animal grinders?
Quite Interesting but lazy
hahaha i to am lazy when it comes to this stuff. but i know what to do. dispenser with blaze powder (i think that shoots fire) then watch the pig burn

One day I'll create a world... A world where only one button has to be pressed... and the game will play itself... Redstone based of course..
But I try to automate everything as well... though animals, I like chasing them down with a fire aspect sword+looting.
Personally~
It doesn't bother me that people have auto farms and mob grinders and anything with redstone.
I Just always thought people love that feature of minecraft "Killing animals that Is"

Tell me this isn't the meaning of fun?
There had to be one time In minecraft where everyone burned something just to entertain themselves.
im not saying its fun (although that did sound a bit sadistic after re-reading it) its just its not like we can walk away and expect the pig to be there still. so we have to watch so we can get the meat
