It's not there in creative mode. You can toggle it on and off in the Graphics part of the options menu. I personally love bedrock fog, it gives that awesome feeling when you're deep underground.
I believe it's ALWAYS there unless mods disable it. It's only present at the very bottom of the map.
On the Xbox, the default regarding Bedrock Fog is OFF. If the host player wants the effect, they have to check the checkbox, which is on the same load menu screen as the option to "render clouds." Personally, I just can't tolerate the effect for very long without getting a headache, so I never play with it on. Since the issue came up, however, I've often wondered what percentage of players play with it on vs. off.

As soon as i was able, i toggled off clouds & bedrock fog. Now only if i could stop that infernal rain (at least you can skip past thunderstorms by sleeping in a bed).

You don't like the rain and thunderstorms? I think they are great. It keeps each day unique. I'd like to see seasons and other events as well just to keep things different.
I keep it on. It makes mining and spelunking in caves below y:15 a pretty intense experience.
i should try that usually i take it off so i can see any daimonds down below but i think i may try to fight mobs while being challenged by fog

They can be quite annoying while testing builds in superflat, in a survival game i'd leave them on.

Sometimes I wish I could handle it to give it a try with the mobs; but I just can't. It's given me an intense headache every single time I've tried. I'm very grateful for the option to turn it off and I'm still playing the game as a result; but I was also very surprised when 4J made the default "off" rather than "on."
thank you for any and all responses

Whenever weather is present, sleeping will remove it.
