you cant record your own voice using any hd pvrs on xbox, idk how but you need to have a micraphone connected when your talking on xbox, or you could commentate over it afterwards what editing system do you have?if your only doing commentary, commentte over the video when its done
If you have a turtle beach it's very easy to record your voice with. If not, you can get a cheap USB mic or something fancy if you have the cash from like any department store. That plugs into your computer and you need a program like audacity or even the sound recorder that comes with most windows computer. To see if you have it type in "Sound Recorder" in the start menu. From there save you voice file and drag it into the voice or sound section of your editing program timeline.
Skype has many of sound recorders for skype, so if you want to record other voices it'd be much better to use that. If not, you can always just lower you game volume then set your xbox voice settings in the preferences tab on the guide and set it to "Play through both TV and Headset" That way your device will pick up the audio of the people in your party. I hope I helped.

The Roxio will not record your voice. It can record others voices. You need to use a program on your computer that can record your voice for you. My Turtle Beaches were 60$ but you can pay as little as 20 bucks for a mic to record your voice with.

Let me elaborate. No recording device will pick up your voice's sound as it's your voice. It picks up any audio that is playing through your TV. You need to use a program on your computer and a mic to record your voice.
Your voice won't pick up from the game. You need a program on your computer to record your voice. If you're doing a dual commentary then use skype and the program together. A good program would be camtasia studio 8. I use to record but not with a raxio. Mine was a Dazzle. It doesn't matter what device. You just need a program to record your voice & device to record your game play. Btw with camtasia studio 8 you could cut or edit your video. Hope this helps.
thanks wolfeand yeah i already know my voice wont pick up from the game

Use Audacity and a set of X12's to start out. Audacity if free and easy to use. The X12's make it easier to connect to the Xbox and the PC at the same time. You won't need any additional wires unless you wanna hear the game sound through your headset. I don't really care for the game sound coming through the headset while I'm playing Minecraft, no need.
As for the voices of the party members set that up as the other poster said to play through the T.V and turn the game sound down.
You don't have to turn the game sound off but down low enough so that the the party members are heard.
Thats the easiest way to get started recording voices on XBOX
