Since item frames are coming soon. I was thinking of placing them in my storage instead of signs. Signs make my world lag. I have about 50+ signs in my world and I want to decrease the amount with signs.
I want to make this storage room clean and simple as possible.
Now to the point.
I was thinking where could I place the item frame without placing them on the chest?
Should I move the chest around?
It's 3 blocks high
I have multiple floors right below it. So I can't mine down or up.
1 block space between each chest
Each chest holds up different types of items. I can't make 2 chest for one item.
I hope you understand what i'm trying to say here. I'll find a way to post a picture if needed.
Here's an example how my storage room looks like.
O = Chest
| = Block
- = Block
(Sorry no picture)
| O | O | O | O |
-----------------
| O | O | O | O |
(Obviously the "-" doesn't have multiple blocks in 1 block. I put that there for an example)
you know if you have a block already between each chest vertically... then why have you not stacked your chests? putting the signs like to either side of a chest is best. The middle is truly not needed since you say you have limited space. You could use that middle to stack chests which means more storage. always have a stair block above the top chest.:D
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
The only time I use signs is to block water. I dont know if that has an affect on lag or not though. Hopefully the new things will help you cut down on lag.
i really hate the use of signs i prefer to place a block in front of the chest. example my wool chest is stacked 3 high with 2 wool blocks in front its cleaner and easier to see compared to having to walk up to the sign and read. hope you guys understand what im trying to say here. if not send me a friend request and i can show you on my world!
I minimize signs or don't use them at all. Eg, put one sign between two chests and write:
Stone---->
<------Dirt
or whatever.
Later, I stopped using signs altogether by using a block of whatever the chest contains as a sign, or something else that makes it obvious (eg a furnace next to a chest of fuel.)
It's helps to have designed the storage room around this idea initially, of course.

I like the way mine looks. Btw the chest is a double chest so I have 2 chest in 1 block space.

Signs make your world have a frame drop which I call lag sometimes. It makes my friends have a delay on what i'm doing on there screen.

I just decide do I really need this or can I do this to get it back easilly

So, are you saying each O in your diagram represents a double chest then. If so, you actually have 2 blocks horizontal between the two chests... just use the block on the left for an item frame that represents the upper chest and the one on the right for an item frame for the lower chest.

I have my signs like this
Steak
Porkchop
I don't use arrows pointing a direction.

Are you saying the item in the item frame? I have loads of items that I could use to put an item frame.
I have no clue what you are talking about.

Yes and thank you for your suggestion.
lol yes & I always find a way around it.
